New England Patriots (ME) @ Cleveland Browns (CPU)

This was a very exciting game!!! Especially considering it was my first game of testing!!! I'll get another game in tomorrow night, this is a very promising start to this years game.....been a long time since I've been this optimistic about Madden having long term potential to give quality gameplay. HUGE STEP IN THE RIGHT DIRECTION FOR THIS GAME!!

The Patriots were sharp early but the Browns fought back at the end of the first half with a TD to make it a 14-13 game.The Patriots had a rough 3rd quarter as Brady threw an interception and New England was called for a couple crucial penalties on offense that cost them first downs. The Patriots were then called for a horrible roughing the passer on a 3rd down allowing the Browns to maintain possession and take control of the game as Manziel scrambled for a TD to give Cleveland a 19-14 lead after the failed 2 point conversion attempt. The Patriots were driving deep into Cleveland territory at the start of the 4th quarter when Branden Lafell was hit as he caught the ball and lost control for a costly fumble that Cleveland recovered on their own 21 yard line with just over 14 minutes remaining to give them the ball with a 19-14 lead. Manziel hit Barnidge for a long gain of over 60 yards on the ensuing drive setting up a 1st & goal from the 5 but the Patriots defense made a huge stand to hold the Browns to a FG to keep it a one score game at 22-14 with just over 12 minutes to play. New England answered back on their next drive as Brady moved the team across midfield with some good throws before Jonas Gray ran the ball off tackle, busted through a crowd and broke loose for a 43 yard TD run to make it 22-20 and Brady hit Amendola for a 2 point conversion to tie the score at 22-22 with 10:45 remaining. The Browns moved the ball across midfield on their next possession before the drive stalled at the New England 42 yard line and they were forced to punt with just over 7:00 left to play. The Browns defense made a huge play as Tramon Williams picked off Brady when he jumped a comeback route on 3rd down of the ensuing Patriots drive for a big turnover to give the ball back to Cleveland at the Patriots 37 yard line with 6:35 on the clock. The Browns could not move the ball though as the New England defense came up with a big 3 & out and Carey Spear missed wide left on a 50 yard FG attempt as the score remained tied 22-22. The Patriots would take over on their own 40 yard line with 5:10 remaining and the score tied 22-22. LeGarrette Blount and Brandon Bolden started off the Patriots drive with a pair of runs up the middle to pick up a 1st down and move the ball to the Cleveland 46 yard line with the clock running. Nate Solder was called for holding on the next play to move the Patriots back and setup a 1st down at their own 48 yard line with 3:48 to play. Brady hit Bolden on a screen pass on the next play for about 16 yards to setup 2nd down & 3 at the Cleveland 39 yard line and Jonas Gray would pound it up the middle for a big 1st down. LeGarrette Blount picked up another 5 yards on 1st down to setup 2nd down on the Cleveland 30 yard line as the clock ran down to the 2:00 warning. The Patriots continued to pound the ball on the ground as Blount picked up 3 more yards setting up a big 3rd down & 2 at the Cleveland 26 yard line. Cleveland elected to hold on to their timeouts so the Patriots let the play clock run down and used their final time out with 1:18 remaining. New England came out of the huddle for the huge 3rd down & 2 and lined up in a heavy set I formation with 2 tight ends and ran the ball straight up the middle with Blount who appeared to reach for the 1st down but the referee spotted the ball just short of the chains and Cleveland called timeout to stop the clock. The Patriots were unable to challenge the spot since there was under two minutes to play and were forced to bring on Gostkowski for a 42 yard FG attempt. Gostkowski nailed the 42 yard FG with a perfect kick right through the middle of the uprights to give the Patriots a 25-22 lead with 1:11 remaining. The Browns would not take the ball out of the end zone on the kickoff as they took the touch back and would take over on their own 20 yard line with 1:11 on the clock and 2 timeouts at their disposal. Manziel hit Hartline with under 1:00 to play to the ball out to the Cleveland 35 yard line and then another pass moved the ball out to the 50 yard line. Manziel evaded the rush on the next play and got loos on a scramble before finally being taken down at the Patriots 35 yard line with 0:24 to play as Cleveland called their final timeout. Devin McCourty knocked down a deep ball intended for Dwayne Bowe in the end zone with 0:12 to play and then Manziel hit Crowell on a swing pass out of the backfield but he was wrapped up by Jamie Collins at the Patriots 27 yard line before he could get to the sideline. The Browns tried to scramble to the line to spike the ball and get the FG unit on the field but they were unable to get the ball snapped in time as the clock ran out and the Patriots hold on for a thrilling 25-22 victory.....WOW!!!

On default, I am hardly seeing any penalties other than the occasional block in the back and facemask. Either that or I'm being drawn offsides/false starts. No PI, no defensive holding. Are you seeing a good mixture with your sliders?

So far, penalties too few on default. I've been using 60 for all bar face masks (default setting for facemasks as there are too many when raised above 50). I've been getting between 10 and 15 penalties per game over 8 test games. This is about on part with league average last year.
