With my slider set speed still kills but agility and acceleration comes into effect as well. Just setting it to 100 and not changing anything else isn’t something I recommend. I’ve spent wayyyyyy too many hours testing my set and I finally have it where this game is replicating what I see on Sundays. What works for me may not work for someone else, I built this set so we won’t rely on just speedy players to win because in the NFL it’s been proven, just because you have world class speed doesn’t make you a good player. Everyone in the slider section have a different take on parity and it’s great to see so many different, awesome sets.

The problem is at 50 or higher the suction animations are so annoying it’s impossible to play! The threshold is not implemented correctly. They over compensate too much. I am totally disgusted with the suction tackles. At least Madden 18 tackling system had less suction animations than 19! EA need to fire Tiburon and hire a new software developer! EA will never listen to its consumers until someone else makes a better football game with superior gameplay.

Re: Has anyone found a good speed threshold?

I am playing all-madden at near default and 50 thresh and don't see any of the issues people squawk about on here. I am 1.5 seasons through CFM and I am able to throw bombs (in realistic frequency) and some games nothing comes together. Went 6-10 in S1 and currently 7-6 in S2 with a two game advantage for playoff berth.

If you aren't getting separation at default, it is because you're either outmatched or calling bad plays / making bad reads. Have a look at the matchups in the pre-play options. Try running the ball if nothing is open consistently. Thats how football is.

I sympathize though.. it took about 20 games on AM before getting the hang of it. Definitely MUCH more realistic and challenging than years past. Use directional passing as well as the high / low modifier. I saw a thread on here about height beijg irrelevant based on 2-3 tesrs - that is crap. I can tell you having a gronk on a small corner is an easy 40+ yard throw *IF* you toss it high. Toss it normal and it will be insta-picked. Best madden in a very long time IMO, with the icing being (hopefully) one more patch for reciever sideline awareness.

My personal opinion is that somewhere around 40-45 is the best range, and the average is dragged down by lazy slider makers who just put it at 0. There is only one slider set that has raised the slider, and that's only to 55 the last time I updated the averages.

You calling me lazy?

Playing CPU vs CPU for all games
I’m looking at this now, started at zero and now at 45. Currently testing higher and lower numbers, I personally believe that the results depend on the the entirety of the combined sliders. From 0 to 45 it reduced rushing break aways and reduced rushing yards which I needed for my sliders.

I agree

I think a game speed of normal and a speed parity of 50 are a must. Adjusting sliders can taylor the game to your liking , but even with that comes repercussions.

What about playing CPU vs CPU?

Not sure..., and after the latest patch I’m not even sold on a threshold of 50. Right now I have it on 0.
