I actually would love for them to implement a new mode called Head Coach Mode into a future Madden game. Instead of making a stand alone game, just make it a mode similar to the two NFL Head Coach games from the past.

HC2009 was SUCH a great game. The level of detail was staggering. Their best franchise mode, BY FAR.

Its impossible for me to fathom why they can't make it a standalone.

It would never sell as well as Madden, but I have no doubt they could make it a profitable series. Look at OOTP Baseball. Launched in '99, survived more than 15 years WITHOUT the MLB license.

... I would love to see era-specific gameplay options, that would probably be enough to get me to buy the series again. But its a pipedream.

That's the thing, if it's money that they are worrying about then just add it as a mode within Madden. After watching 2k make a game that's 150GB, I don't think space would be an issue.

That would be awesome but I believe EA don't want anything get in the way of MUT $$$ that's why we haven't seen classic teams in years
But let's be realistic Madden still struggling with modern franchise

They’ll never do eras. They are still way behind on the things that have to be added in franchise mode.

I haven't purchased 2k23 yet. How detailed in "era". Do you get every team in a specific season?

They split it into four different eras with different start points.

It's not actually a big deal. Custom filters on the same custom rosters people have been making for years. AI plays differently a little, like how teams in the 80s will rarely ever shoot threes or teams in the 90s force feed centers.

It actually is a big deal. You can start from 83 all the way up to 22’ and beyond, with everything happening in between. Such as historical draft classes and expansion/re branding during the years when it actually happened.

To go back on this topic. Maybe EA should fix their bugs and glitches to the modes they have now, and maybe they can expand on other things.
