If you are playing on All-Madden, you are correct, ratings don't matter at all... If you are playing on Pro, the ratings absolutely matter...

This I agree with

On Classic passing I'm seeing a wide range of off target throws.

I use under 10 for QBA

Conclusion:

The throw-power value has a lot more variables in animation to it compared to accuracy. For accuracy most balls were underthrown rather than directional, and if they were directional, they weren't at what I would consider a 1-99 scale at all. This is where I think the real issue is that the accuracy values don't have any corresponding animation of significance. When paired with a higher Throw Power it almost doesn't matter.

This just confirms that the game isn't built on separating entities on the field, something we already know. Instead it uses the sliders to determine the variables, but that gets complicated and has to be related to one another.

Does it bother me? Yes and no. Yes for the sake of others that don't want to adjust sliders for whatever reason.

For me personally, not really. Sliders are there for a reason. That same underthrown animation can be enhanced, as can the overthrown animation.

I think reverse engineering is good to identify the problem, and as a quality software engineer in my day job I understand the acceptance criteria for this type of task would be extensive. Clint and EA have something to answer for, but it's not 'exactly' that ratings don't matter, it's just that they aren't as effective as they should be, and don't have a wide enough animation library to support otherwise.

At least until it's addressed (if it is) there are sliders to anchor some sort of a football game there.

Great insight...it still boggles the mind why EA doesn't differentiate their QBs.

I do have one question for you @matt10. Do you think you had more success with qbs playing to their ratings with Madden 24 vs Madden 25?

Re: Ratings don't matter in Madden 25!!

For what it’s worth, I am under the impression of these bullet points per all my observations.

- The accuracy slider, doesn’t have enough errant outcomes for only CPU qbs

- when lowering the CPU accuracy, it is not as apparent or effective compared to lowering the Human QB accuracy

- I’m going to be removing and playing any game vs cpu with zero X factor Qb abilities.

That includes only any “perfect accuracy “ superstar ability” that’s a gimmick I personally never want to see in a football game.

- I have seen far improved qb stats for cpu with a combo of 0-17 QB acc slider and catching around 35-45

- There are off target throws in the game horizontally, I’ve seen the cpu miss a few.

- traits on player cards are bugged, they display a few things but when you edit many of them are set to off.. several traits listed are accurate on player card but not all.

- they do an extremely terrible job at trait management. I’ve been going through and re-tooling traits based on player unique basis.

(Less than 5 running backs and wide receivers had “fights for extra yards” )

- Too many guys are bracing for “all hits”

- It may turn into a roster project after doing some franchise test.

Moral of the story we are all in agreement in certain degrees

Lastly I haven’t used classic I use placement. But I can completely see where classic would breed better results. Also practice performance and game performance are separate for testing. Under the hood there are more components moving in actual games vs just running practices.

Ideally it would be nice to just run a offense only practice and miss passes naturally on air occasionally. But I may be too much of a realist rather than wanting rewarded for every gameplay output I decide

A bit off topic, but Madden has the same issue CFB had with the A.I constantly using hit stick tackles. CFB had to correct this in a patch, it’s looking like Madden will need to do the same. I’ve posted this in the bugs thread as well.

Re: Ratings don't matter in Madden 25!!

I fast scanned read through this. One thing to also consider if testing this in franchise, are you taking game planning, senerios, and this new media thing into account? These cant be ignored. Even if you dont do it, it still sims it when you go into a game. All these have the same (if not more) effect on gameplay then sliders. If you are, are you using the same ones every game with test.

Absolutely, (I may even already have it on classic). Definitely will change to classic. Sounds like classic and QB acc slider at 0 might do the trick for me personally.
