I see you put your physics slider at 55. Is there an option in franchise mode for the physics slider cause I can’t find it anywhere but play now?

Re: Ratings don't matter in Madden 25!!

I put everything at 0 except for catching, the game actually played better at 0 then,I've ever seen it play. Only thing, I might change is fumbles, no rb has fumbled it but the Saints QB fumbled twice, GB QB has not. Stopped the game in the 3rd quarter though with about 5 minutes left in it. WR catching at 54. And I saw the DB actually jump up twice and knocked the ball down. I thought it was a sure long bomb completion but the DB despite being at 0 leaped up and got a piece of it. Only seen that on passes where it was obvious that was going to be the outcome. Set it all to 0.

Re: Ratings don't matter in Madden 25!!

Throw accuracy is broken. I lowered Jordan Loves ratings as well S dropped the QB accuracy slider and saw no change. He is still as accurate as when it's set to 100 accuracy with maxed QB ratings.

As it stands it doesn't matter what your QB ratings are l, or accuracy sliders. It has no effect on anything.

I think pass leading is broken too. Very rarely does the pass go where you want it to go when you lead it. It's a perfect pass every time to the receiver.

Re: Ratings don't matter in Madden 25!!

To provide context, I tested the following in-game rather than in practice mode:

[5:35]All-Madden default sliders, starting QBs at Short/Med/Deep accuracy to 1
[16:09]All-Pro default sliders, starting QBs at Short/Med/Deep accuracy to 1
[24:45]All-Pro default sliders, starting QBs at Throw Power + Short/Med/Deep accuracy to 1
[35:29]All-Pro default sliders, Competitive Mode, starting QBs at Throw Power + Short/Med/Deep accuracy to 1

Video:

Conclusion:

The throw-power value has a lot more variables in animation to it compared to accuracy. For accuracy most balls were underthrown rather than directional, and if they were directional, they weren't at what I would consider a 1-99 scale at all. This is where I think the real issue is that the accuracy values don't have any corresponding animation of significance. When paired with a higher Throw Power it almost doesn't matter.

This just confirms that the game isn't built on separating entities on the field, something we already know. Instead it uses the sliders to determine the variables, but that gets complicated and has to be related to one another.

Does it bother me? Yes and no. Yes for the sake of others that don't want to adjust sliders for whatever reason.

For me personally, not really. Sliders are there for a reason. That same underthrown animation can be enhanced, as can the overthrown animation.

I think reverse engineering is good to identify the problem, and as a quality software engineer in my day job I understand the acceptance criteria for this type of task would be extensive. Clint and EA have something to answer for, but it's not 'exactly' that ratings don't matter, it's just that they aren't as effective as they should be, and don't have a wide enough animation library to support otherwise.

At least until it's addressed (if it is) there are sliders to anchor some sort of a football game there.

Re: Ratings don't matter in Madden 25!!

I'm doing a RB Superstar with the Bengals. It feels like every one of Burrow's throws are either a Completion, drop, or Interception. It took a half of a season for me to see him make an errant throw. While, it definitely feels like Robo-QB at times, it doesn't feel like AI QBs knows how to layer a football. It feels like most AI throws are bullets, when Touch is needed

I'm not sure if the Player Traits are still present(for example, Sense Pressure). But, it is weird how some AI QBs handle no targets being open. It's either QBs get locked into scramble mode or instant sack because QBs start running backwards and takes bad sacks.

Re: Ratings don't matter in Madden 25!!

I can confirm that, at 0, All-Madden difficulty, accuracy sliders don´t do anything.

The only solution that I see to this, specially in franchise, is adjusting the general WR Catching Slider to reflect a realistic completion %, always having in mind that over the last two decades the avarage completion % in the NFL has been 61-63 %, 33 attempts per game.

In that sense, playing as the Chiefs and Mahomes, the WR Catching slider could be raised until reach a 67-69 completion %. On the other hand, playing as any team with a low rated QB, the slider could be lowered until having numbers around 58-62 %.

This is not perfect, as ideally incompletions should be generated by different types of actions (deflections, drops, throws out of sack, throws away, inaccurate passes, INTs...), but it is what it is, and at the end of the day an incompletion is an incompletion in football, and the result is the same in any case.

Re: Ratings don't matter in Madden 25!!

I can't speak on Madden 25 because I don't know if it's the case; but in Madden 24, whenever I spectated any game, I would use two controllers, even if one was just a dummy controller to change a uniform, because when doing so, it would allow the reticle to be visible for both CPU teams. I wanted to be able to see if the AI was using Placement and Accuracy like the User was. Based on what I saw, they were. Both, player ratings as well as the QB ACC slider had a definite affect on throw accuracy.

I do know that EA made a decision to get rid of, and I'm paraphrasing, the erratic passes that would go 10-15 yards over the head of a receiver, in favor of inaccurate passes that would still be deemed catchable, with the receiver just having to adjust to the pass more so than it falling incomplete. It's very evident in the college game where passes that probably would have fallen incomplete in the past, the WR adjusts to make the catch. The difference between the college game and Madden appears to be the effectiveness of the sliders.

Sliders most definitely work in the college game, which is vital because we don't have the ability to edit players at all.

Ok, so I can’t agree with the “acc sliders don’t work” premise. Dropped CPU to 8 and HUM to 15 and had a pretty solid game last night (Arizona vs Denver). Definitely observed under/over throws, however, for as low as the sliders are, I can agree I would expect more than I saw. I’m gonna play the same game again later and I’ll post whatever the outcome is.
