"With today's tech", and today is the key word.

Madden still has miles upon miles of old coding in the game. Trying to get that to work with new coding or replacing the old coating will take years. And probably something Madden isn't looking into repairing.

I wish they could tear the old coding down and start from scratch.

I've spent the last 4 or 5 Maddens obsessing over the sliders, to the point of it's ruining the enjoyment of the game for me.

The sliders need to go! It's impossible to create a set to get realism across the board.

Take QB accuracy. In theory you need to set the slider so that a 99 OVR QB completes between 60%-70% throughout the season but there's so many variables that determine the completion % (quality of receivers, quality of opponents, pass rush and pressure etc).

If you try to start with a QB who's overall is say 70, setting the slider to get that 60%-70% range should see a 99 overall completing higher in theory and above the NFL low-high range.

The defaults are set to 50 to replicate NFL averages so as soon as you drop or raise them, you're making a player worse or better depending which way you go and that and then that impacts every player through the rosters negatively or positively.

Then you've got players developing and regressing and also the coaching tree which provides boosts which as you play through seasons impacts where your sliders are set. It's an impossible task.

At the start of this series, it shows Tripp with his board game based on numbers to "predict" the outcome and then the influence on ratings and how they even mattered to players.....so get rid of the sliders and let the ratings matter again! The sliders nurf everything!

Sliders this, slider that… we have points but a common mutual fact is, their code is flawed and needs replaced because very few things actually function at an optimal level. The base foundation… its a rotten dice roll.

There’s thresholds for everything that open up capabilities. Speed , size, weight, locomotion all have thresholds. Fake outs, releases all have dice roll wins/losses

Advantageous animations that produce higher outcomes than others per their rate of being triggered.

Yes the sliders don’t due a good job of globally translating global results for these dice rolls.

0 accuracy should mean literally unable to complete a pass.
99 pass coverage should mean fake outs and delays should have no buffer/ leaving it then to physical traits.

But they can’t do it because of the rotten foundation and the need to put out titles.

What would be sweet????
If EA & 2k could merge and mutual agreement with NFL, and they both take turns putting out the future football titles, (Madden in 26, 2k27, Madden 28, 2k29… give the companies a bi-annual approach to really go in and make substantial changes/upgrades)

Or open the license for the next decade and monetize off of “x” amount of publishers each year. Including EA.

Can it get worse sure but the overall I think there’s more positivity and money in established publishers having the shot.

But if the NFL were still getting their sales cut per their contractual agreement with 2K, why would it matter..?? 2k price drop was to simply out sell the number of copies of Madden. 2k would take the financial hit, not the NFL..
