EA could (but hopefully they never do) negotiate with the individual coaches who are not in the Coaches union, to get them in.

I don't think any amount of money would get Belichick in the game, for him it's not about the money, it's about the principal.

and what is the "principal"...that is dumb...if he's against being in the NFLCA over a difference of principals fine but don't tell me he gives 2 sh*ts about whether he is in Madden or not.

I think surfacing coaches is a baby step towards dealing with staffing at an organizational level rather than just coach / scout / training. Given more time I expect it would have been a feature for 15 and will be very surprised if it isn't in next year. As it is now it looks almost like this odd timeless advisor system from a Civilization game (Diplomacy, Commerce, War, etc). It's going to really hit people when they sim 10 years and it's the same coaches, heck even just replacing your current coach and having the rest of that staff remain will be a little funky. I think in the future we'll get to deal with not only player confidence but staff (coach, coordinators) confidence also. I want them to make recommendations for us to follow or not, impacting their desire to stay, my ratings as an owner, the appeal of other coaches to work for my organization, etc.

This is quite far down the rabbit hole of a tangent in a thread about 1 missing coach though so lets get back to repeating the same 1-2 reasons why this won't happen until everyone understands

Has nothing to do with Madden he is against the NFLCA and want's no part of it or anything it is associated with. He has been offered entry in the past and always refused it, he said he doesn't care about the money. Do you know the origin of why he wears a hoodie? When the NFL signed the exclusive deal with Reebok requiring all coaches to wear Reebok clothing, he was outraged that the NFL was telling grown men how to dress so he chose the one thing that he would think would embarrass the NFL the most, a gray hoodie. He is against the NFL injury policy asking coaches to predict whether a player is probably, questionable or doubtful. His response to that is to list Tom Brady as probably every single week with a "shoulder injury". He has always done things his own way and that will never change, he is an old school coach with old school views. It's his way or now way. I doub't he's ever even played Madden.

For me the addition of Payton or Belichick is not a gamebreaker. Yes it can be jarring at first but it has been there long enough that I really don't have an issue with it anymore.
