Madden this year is more strategic than ever. I have success with screens when I know the defense will be sending pressure or they are playing off man

Anybody that says they're getting sacked right on the snap, you have to take control of the QB and drift pack a few steps (while watching the rush) and when the RB slips out, touch pass and hope he does something with it. If you catch them in a blitz, you're getting yards. Sometimes they do see it coming and blow it up but it's not broken or OP this year.

Well, I take this back. I don't know if it's the AI catching on, the teams I played or what, but screens are working about how they should for me now, if a little underpowered. Weird.

I can only get them off during blitz plays on All-Madden. Even then, a lot of times the man guarding the HB usually picks it up and starts running with my lineman before I can get to the next level. That stop and stand in place like the play is dead animation can get you sacked a lot, because it takes too long for them to get going.

Now that you can see what the previous play was ran against you on D, ive noticed that at times you can still drop back quick enough and far enough to get your screen pass off IF the defense is only rushing their linemen.

It kind of is what it is, I think. But, I'd say overall, the QB back pedal is actually worse this year. VERY slow. So, you've got to get used to the timing and I imagine some QBs back pedal better than others. I play with Matt Ryan who isn't very athletic, of course, and his back pedal is awful. So, you've gotta get the ball extra quick this year. It definitely feels off, but it's do-able.
