How did you get their year-by-year 40 times? At what point are veterans running timed 40s?

Believe it or not, a lot of teams still track 40 times like they track other measurables during a players' career. This is the same data source that provides the scouting data for FBG Ratings.

What about Darren McFadden, Terrence Newman, Pacman Jones, Felix Jones, Jason Witten, Revis, Anquan Bolden, and Reggie Bush?

This type of data just shows how much we need a much deeper regression system. It also shows that even though guys drop in speed over the years they don't fall off like WR's do in Madden.

Bolden was never blazer anyway and he has stayed pretty close to what he was at first.

Also it seems guys lose speed more gradually as the years go on instead of just a big drop off in one off season.

Re: Madden 16, Regression

It also shows how unrealistically high most guys are in their speed rating in Madden. From what I can gather Moore basically goes by the 40 time for speed. Based on the 40 time to speed charts that use how they have done it for rookies and recruited players he gives globally too high speed. Witten would be about 65 and he should have started in the low 70's.

Regress is done more realistically combined with global speed ratings being more realistic (lower) it would be as big of a deal to have a WR with 75 speed. Bolden would be about that now.

That's why I think the current system is in place. It's easy than taking the time to make it realistic. NFL Head Coach 09 has a much better injury and regression system.

I hoped that they would just let Josh Looman incorporate that model but, for whatever reason EA didn't want it I guess.

I would really love to know why they make the decisions they do sometimes. Is it money? Time? Or do they really think it's the best idea?

Re: Madden 16, Regression

You guys are fooling yourself if you think that if the game represented those kinds of results it wouldn't result in sim gamer throwing a fit. It is the essence of why appeasing sim gamers is not a profitable path.

Look at any sports forum for a particular team. How many people ever agree on the prospects of players? Now throw that randomness into a player's team, when he felt he did everything "right," and it is a recipe for outrage. They have outrage now. Why invest time and effort into more?

Why do you assume you know what a sim gamer wants? I would personally love if my rookie RB dropped one speed point every year or two and went from 94 to 90 in 5 years than to have him drop from 95 to 80 in one off season.

I mean why even have system a at all if we're not going to at least attempt realism? These type of comments just frustrate and anger me. You don't know what everyone else would want.

People only complain because it's stupid for a WR to drop from 95 speed to 80 in one off season without having a serious injury. The data even backs this up.

People don't complain about normal regression that makes logical sense. It's foolish to try and speak on behalf of everyone like you seem to do.

It's fine to have an opinion but, to say things like this is a bit much.
