Madden 16 Pre-release Impressions Thread

Im going to go and buy a new controller. I think I am the only one having issues pre snap on defense. Each game it gets worse. Whoever im selected starts running back as far as they can. If i switch that person runs back...In addition, the camera angle constantly changes.

Its only on defense and not on every play..

Besides that I have been enjoying the game. But I have enjoyed previous maddens for the most part

I have had 3 one possession games on all-pro.

Pass rush is almost non-existent.
Dont think Robo QB is there like last year. nor the CPU Sack bug, where they looked, looked, looked and finally took a sack

On default All-Pro CPU running game is very underwhelming...played against Vikings. one score game and he 10 carries for 22 yards...

Longest run I have given up is 12 yard run by Chris Ivory, but part was due the fact i got stuck in that backwards bug i described earlier.

One more thing...In Franchise mode, the visuals for goals and points is way overwhelming...I took them off after 1 drive....

When players get injured they immediately show it. Not lay down and wait for a cut scene.

Just had not one but TWO defensive pass interference calls in one game

I just played draft champions for the first time. its a mode i originally thought was a waste of time but I actually really like it so far. its a lot different building your own team then watching someone else do it! I picked an almost all defense team including elite players like dantari poe, mario williams, harrison smith, and legend jason taylor. on offense i got 3 WR and QB cam newton and HB todd gurley and TE Jared cook so not a bad offense. the team building somewhat reminded me of my all time favorite game, all pro football. the elite players even have stars under them which is a neat feature.

i played against a guy who had a balanced team headlined by legend cornerback ty law and QB russel wilson. game started off i drove down field and settled for field goal but the split second lag on the kick meter made me miss the kick just short. he marched down field and scored, too easily. i was worried. but i vowed to make smarter play calling decisions from then on. and it paid off. i ended up winning 17-7 he could not score after his first drive. got interceptions from harrison smith and stephen tolluck. todd gurley was game mvp he ran for 100 yards on just 10 carries.

the main storyline from the game was me outcoaching the opponent. the only way he was able to beat my defense was throwing to tight end kyle eifert. so what i did was just triple covered him each play. thats how i got my 2 interceptions. and also lead to a few sacks by my amazing defensive line. the adjustments i made after his first drive proved to be crucial, and game winning.

overall a really fun time. a fair, well played match. i never felt cheated (except on the missed field goal kinda). and i would be playing another opponent right now but im unable to find any other players haha. im already excited for my next run when i get to make a new team. maybe ill go all offense this time. who knows! surprising how fun this mode was even from just 1 game.
