Is Ultimate team gaming ruining sports games

No what I think is ruining sports games is companies keep trying more and more to make them "accessible". Instead of teaching people how to play the sport they dumb things down to make it easier. Make it more pick up and play. Ultimate team is just a mode. Highly doubt the group working on ultimate team works on every other major area of the game.

Which is rather depressing since the selling point of CCM was how quickly things could be added since it would take much less resources to add something.

Even if gameplay isn't going as fast as some would like, I still give the gameplay team credit for sim/realism additions/changes they are making. But I don't give the franchise team the same kid of kudos.

I don't think MUT hinders OR helps CFM at all. As mentioned, they are separate teams and it wouldn't shock me if their budgets were separate as well. I would imagine a majority of the profit from MUT goes towards licensing fees for players.

The frustrations we see with CFM seem to be the same frustrations we've seen from well before MUT was introduced.

To me, them saying we spent more resources and whatnot on CFM and gameplay just means they focused on it more than they have in the past. Not that they were able to use extra revenue to boost those avenues.

I would also assume some that money goes towards the "e" word.

Yes. Companies are looking at the money some people throw into this mode. For them UT is icing on the cake and until gamers stop throwing money away, companies will continue putting their resources in expanding this mode.

Really...because Madden is doing the complete opposite. They didn't touch MUT this year and worked extensively on CCM. 2K to our knowledge so far hasn't done much to MT except for removing Pink Diamond players.

I don't play the UT modes, I hear Madden changed up some of the features and I know FIFA did the same.

They were doing ok before MUT without the extra money. So that argument, to me at least, doesn't hold much water.
