Re: Flawed QB AWR progression

So is this issue just affecting certain players or all at certain positions? If it's just certain players I don't see a huge problem to be honest. Some players bust...no one thought trent Richardson would be out of a job before his rookie deal. Eric fisher is failing in k.c.

This is mainly prevalent in QB's as the progression logic is flawed, in that the CPU will typically try and upgrade accuracy first before AWR. If set to weekly, it will try and upgrade low accuracy but usually only be able to afford the cheaper skill AWR. If set to offseason it has a great amount of XP to work with at once, so will spend it on more expensive skills over increasing the AWR to the level seen in weekly progression.

As the QB regresses from bad games (4+ INT) and/or bad years (not making goals) the weekly progression makes up for this, but the yearly progression does not.

In response to your statement, sure, I guess it could affect other positions, but I've not seen it to the same level it affects QB's (QB's and AWR is like LT's and PBK). I guess as AWR factors much higher into a QB's OVR then it becomes a more weighted problem say compared to an LB, who has to upgrade rushing, run stuffing, coverage and awareness skills.

The lower XP player development and the way draft mode is this year I think takes care of the realism of players busting so adding severe QB regression into the mix turns balanced boom or bust drafting into a dumpster fire.

Re: Flawed QB AWR progression

It's frustrating, I played an entire season with the Falcons.

Matt Ryan: 4,100 yds 46 TD 11 INT 72% completion

AWR drops to 68?

I just don't understand the logic behind this. For what it's worth, I was only sacked 9 times in 16 games as well.

Did you play an existing CFM or a new one? In the patch #2 thread a few people said its fixed in a new CFM.

That was the old one, I restarted after the patch due to that reason and some laughable LT's around the league.

I played 4 games last night but honestly didn't check to see if it's been fixed. I know I've thrown 12 TD and 2 INT in 4 games this season so if it's down I'm going to be pissed lol

Re: Flawed QB AWR progression

Again, very unfortunate. The backbone of any franchise mode is really progression/regression. If progression/regression doesn't make sense than everything else doesn't really matter.

We are now 2 patches and 6 weeks after release. I think it is time to say that gameplay took another great step foreword but CFM is just not functioning at an acceptable level. This issue, if it even exists, is just another drop in the bucket. No one issue is truly game mode breaking but in the aggregate it just isnt working. Even absent the bugs, the mode is just very bare bones and hasnt really progressed (no pun intended) in the 4 years.

My own opinion is that, unfortunately, after 4 years of CCM/CFM and XP it is time for the Madden team to admit that has been a failure and rebuild franchise from the ground up.

Some things of note:

1. Delete ALL your madden files...every last one. Sorry but this is what I did and it worked.
2. Never download the tuner. I dont do this either
3. Download the patch which would be the latest one of course.
4. Set up your base Madden as you did day one purchase IE settings and what not
5. THEN do your CFM...This patch WILL not fix current CFM. I could go on about what a patch is, does, and what it cannot do but just do the above step actions and get THEN get back to the boards.

Game plays great Post patch. No complaints aside from resigning player sbut then again I like the A hole nature of athletes since we see it year and year out.
