I was just pointing out your Chad Henne scenario in real life, when Matt Flynn dropped 6 touchdowns on the Lions, and never saw a starting role after that.

But I totally agree with you on your points.

Attributes and ratings are about what the player is capable of physically, not statistically.

Only after losing the Seattle job the DangeRuss and Terrell Pryor getting hurt. Then he was demoted in favor of Matt McGloin.

I really don't mind the rating system of Madden as far as their scale of 0-99 goes. It's easy, it makes sense, and it has become a part of football culture. Even real NFL players care about their Madden ratings.

However, one thing that really bothers me is how close all the ratings are with each other.

Separate the legends from joes... I want to feel the difference in players. I want teams to feel the struggle of losing a player.

If/ when Carson Palmer goes down with an injury, I want to see the Cardinals rely more on the run, I want to see Larry Fitzgerald feel the struggle of have a back up QB in.

Maybe we'll get lucky and at least get it a few days prior to EA Play. That'll help build up excitement for the event. In the meantime, here's to hoping we get the presentation blog. Hoping so badly for a more dynamic and involved crowd. I want to hear the crescendo and feel the stunned silence when something big or electric happens. As of now, it's something that detracts from immersion.

I know we don't talk about it much, but a dynamic crowd could do a lot for CFM.

Agreed, this is why it would be fun to see the current 50-99 rating based on current player bell curves change to a 0-99 rating bell curve of all players through the nfls history. 99 being you are the best ever at doing that in that position as oppose to the best right now. 40-60 in a skill would mean okay but JAG and glaring holes in the roster would be harder to disguise. (basically described the fbg ratings/rosters there...)
