I've always been under the impression that the team/devs just don't know much about football, or they have a very basic knowledge of it..

Either that or they know these things are wrong and just can't get it high enough on the priority list to address it. It will never happen but skipping just 1 year for more development would improve the game by a vast amount.

No, they do know football. Clint is a former NFL linemen and Rex played college football. I'm sure other members of the team know football very well.

Their knowledge of the game is not the issue.

The feature we are clamoring for was previously in many editions of madden. They just take things away that work, and pound new "features" down our throat.

I think they know the game and if not they can always bring in former NFL coaches and players.

I just think it is not high on their priority list or the engine may not allow for it. Heck, I am still amazed at how much the sidelines on Madden 16 still look like a joke.

I don't think the game is made with you guys in mind. The hardcore gamer/football fan is going to buy it anyway. The market EA is going for is the casual fan, who would be turned off by having to wade through more in-depth strategy. Guy who watches football when he remembers it's on knows what "ROLB" means. Will be know what "Sam" means? Unlikely.

This is probably what EA thinks but it is wrong. The casuals will buy it anyway. They would not have to wade through the things they don't want to.

Accessibility is almost certainly why some of these things haven't been in Madden.
