Speed threshold may play a part in this as well. Lower the setting, the more common are the big plays.

Not just long TDs either. A low threshold can be the difference between a RB getting the corner or being tackled by the DE after a 2 yard gain.

I set mine at 45. Too low and the yardage becomes inflated.
