When developing players I have mainly focused my XP on individual physical attributes and totally ignored awareness.

In simplest terms, does this mean I should start dedicating some XP to awareness to get the most out of my player development?

That's is the way I understood it. Awareness allows the players full potential (other attributes) to be realized.

Not surprising that awareness is the king of all.....

Been creating classic rosters in Madden and NCAA for years and I've always felt like with higher awareness for players the games played much better on the field.

You could tell easily because on the offensive line EA would always assign these high Blocking ratings yet many of the OL very rarely had high awareness ratings so it led to comical blocking on the field.

Guys letting players run right by them, not picking up blitzes and even RB's with low awareness would just stand there and not even react to a pass rusher zeroing in on the QB.

Awareness has always been my way off fixing most of the issues on the field that haunted the game(s) out of the back

Podcast was pretty good

I'd say yes, this is a smart bet.

I'd also say PRC for defenders, alongside AWR, should be the things to focus on building up first.

I wish we knew the threshold for maximizing the attributes modified by AWR. For example, if a player's ZCV is modified by AWR as Clint says, and a 99 AWR value allows the defender to play 100% of the zone "and then some" (quote), then what AWR level allows the defender to play exactly 100% of his designated area?

I was not satisfied with his answer that being specific about these matters is too boring. I'm not 100% convinced that they know what does what in terms of the cascading effects of one rating upon another.

But for me, it's AWR and PRC and then certain traits like strip ball and big hit before any of the other upgrades to player attributes.

If you guys could ask five attribute/ game mechanic questions what would they be?

A) "Stamina" rating and the relational impact/drain on...
1) is it all ratings?
2) is it just positional ratings?
3) does it impact AI players, or just Human player teams only?
4) A player with an "85" rating, what does that mean?
5) Allowing gamers editing access to the "Stamina Meter" rating?
(which is critical to ratings usage during a play)

B) Are animations tied to different level settings of a rating or does animation triggering depend on factors beyond the rating itself ?

1) Will a 65 Catch and/or Spec Catch rating have "less" animations to trigger than a "90" rating?

2) What rating drives "Avoidance of a player"?
- "NOT" Tackle avoidance which requires a tackle attempt to be triggered first, but avoiding/running "Away" from a tacklers path.

3) Does "Ball Carry Vision" indirectly trigger "running lanes" to be created by the OL to fulfill its definition? (ie able to recognize/see running lanes)

4) Do Traits override/superseed ratings?
- ie Big Hitter Trait with a player having "50" Hit Power
- ie Sense Pressure Trait with a QB having low AWR/ELU ratings

5) Is OL "Targeting System" tied to any ratings?
- Or is it "pre-defined" to any player fulfilling the role as a blocker?
