As the Vikings I traded John Sullivan for the Patriot's 2nd and 3rd round picks in 2018.

In the 2017 draft I had my eye on a MLB projected to go in the 7th but he went before I picked in the 5th. I checked on him after and it turned out he was a 77 OVR. He's also from my alma mater so there wasn't any team he was going to be playing for that wasn't me. I managed to package the Patriot's 2nd round pick and a 70 OVR MLB I had just drafted to snag him.

Then I didn't really need Eric Kendricks anymore, so I packaged him and Antoine Exum Jr. (Ok, also from my alma mater, but 3rd string SS? Gotta go) for the Bengals 2017 first.

In the 2017 draft I also landed a 79 OVR RB that has great agility and speed. He's a perfect compliment to AD and will hopefully be able to be the feature back in a couple years when AD is gone (or when I decide nothing is holy and ship AD away, but I kind of want to get him some TD records.) I'm trying to ship McKinnon off to someone but nobody is interested at all. Best I can get is a 5th round pick two years away or 6th next year.
I'm similar. Prefer draft to trade but this year Miami are so bad simply scouring the waiver wire after each preseason week upgraded me significantly.
I picked up Ifedi the Seahawks G 1st rounder this way! He started as backup to Tunsil, but when Tunsil began to start at LT, he stepped up.
Victor Valentine really helps my DT rotation, now a starter.

Once into the season I coudn't buy a win. Tannehill threw 4 picks in week 7 game, 2 for pick6. All 4 throws were so off target I cut him the next day.

Then traded Jelani jenkins OLB to Buffalo for Karlos Williams (CPU proposed) and Brandon Alberts LT to NYG for 2nd and 4th Rnd 2018 (CPU proposed)

Matt Moore can really play, especially in the dink and dunk scheme I seem to favour. He has had a couple of horror picks but i'll take 2 in 5 games over Tannehill's consistent issues. I'm pretty sure me getting better helps this as well!

Now 5-7 and wondering if I've blown my chances of drafting a 1st Rnd QB!

No way, my Raiders let Mack go? Surprised by that. Would have expected first rounders to be required
