I think Rex's biggest mistake was giving us dates we should expect gameplay. Whether he was actually told to tell those dates we won't know. If nothing drops today they shouldn't be surprised with the firestorm on social media. And unfortunetly the devs will get the brunt of it.

Agree, Rex shouldn't have put a date stamp on anything.

Now, a tweet he did earlier in the week, didn't have a date stamp on it. He said, core community will have something late in the week.

That could be today or tomorrow and sounds better, but, people will always remember the date stamp tweet over the late in the week tweet.

When I see commercials for new games I tend to discount them because most of what they show is not game footage. They tend to mix in a bunch of non playing scenes that make the game look much better than actual gameplay. Often, I find myself wondering if it is gameplay or the cinematic non controllable video of the game that I am looking at. I think a lot of casual game players have a hard time telling the difference.

This. Everyone is up in arms about a trailer not being released, I'm just over hear waiting for raw gameplay footage. Trailers tell you nothing except what is being hyped. Shows all good with none of the bad.

Yep, and to make sure this conversation is about Longshot I will say that in the Longshot trailer I don't know what I am in control of and what I am not in control of in that Longshot video. That is my point as it pertains to Longshot and why I posted it in a Longshot thread. I thought it was obvious.

I'm cool with a trailer as long as it shows "in-game" gameplay, the longshot trailer did not, lol. I still do think there is value in trailers, as long as it is of actual footage....
