Re: Madden 18 RB2 Stats Issue

Do you know if passing TDs are lower than real NFL averages or are scores inflated? In a fair number of the seasons I've played I end up with a really low number of passing TDs but a huge number of rushing TDs because the AI seems to always catch me a yard or two short of the goal line on my big passes and my RB ends up getting the TD as a result.

Just from a simulation standpoint, they're really inflated just like the rushing touchdowns. Not necessarily in the same way or to the same degree as the rushing touchdowns but still more than any NFL season in history each year.

He said Madden 18. Also can’t discuss the beta (which I know won’t stop everyone lol), but it seems he was experimenting with 18

I believe this all comes down to gameplay and speed. The rpm design could be the spark, but madden is about big plays and quick scores. The play clock isnt realistic in comparison to the time a play typically takes whistle to whistle irl, and a drive is usually boom or bust in madden. Plenty of games have 3 and outs and long drives resulting in more offensive stats but punts and fgs in the end. In madden that style of gameplay isnt truly represented and the AI isnt smart enough to use starters and number ones as primary scoring options first.

S/N: This isn't to bash madden, as I stated earlier. If more strides are made with RPM to slow down the game to match the clock and an overhaul on line play mechanics is done, this could nearly perfect a foundation for gameplay.

Re: Madden 18 RB2 Stats Issue

I'm in a GM-only league that's gotten through 17 seasons, so we get a good understanding of sim stats and this is definitely one of the worst parts.

There's actually a huge issue with the sim engine and some players never rushing for longer than 4 yards and never break any tackles. We've done a lot of looking into it (other leagues have too) and think it has something to do with the elusiveness rating being below a certain threshold.

This is literally game-breaking as you might draft a HB in the first round but if he has the bug you're **** out of luck, no chance he'll be salvageable.

Rookie QBs way outperforming their ratings when they're on a good team is another one. Almost every year there's a guy that puts up a season that's better than Dak's. Something like 4,000+ yards and 30+ TDs, competing for MVP. We've had multiple rookies win OROY, OPOY, Best QB and MVP.

I don't think I've seen the CPU top 20 rush TDs on any of the 31 CPU-controlled teams in my solo CFM 6 seasons in.

I think that is probably because the RB's tend to get injured a lot with my settings though. Hence I don't really notice the abnormally high scoring.

I also notice that the CPU tends to score a lot more TD's than FG's. This is bizarre. I'm halfway through my 2022 season and I've seen a couple CPU kickers with 30+ XPM and less than 5 FG attempts. I think this somehow also contributes to the abnormally high pass/rush TD's. But with the abundance of injuries it tends to spread out more evenly in my solo CFM.

That conversion rate for TD's is way too high for the CPU. And I don't know of a slider setting to adjust that.

Sliders affect gameplay , not results produced by the sim-engine as far as I know , so sliders do not help here ,, unless you are referring to the old rb1/ rb2 coach slider , but that hasn't been in the game in a few years ( M12?)
