How do you play Madden franchise?

I play weeks 4, 8, 12 and 16. Sim the rest. In tbe playoffs i play the moments but only if the game is tied or i am behind. Otherwise, i skip to the next moment.

Odd thing about madden. Most sports it's the actual playing of the season that's fun. But with madden theres a large group that is more GM than player.

It's all about how far in you want to get versus how much time you have to play. There was a time i would play 162 game baseball seasons and have a dynasty over a decade. That time is long gone or my marriage would be.

Sometimes I play offense and defense only. Some I play a full game. Sometime I play just my division games.

Online franchise is the only way I'll play until sliders get ironed out

I don't get why so many are simming the games. I would understand this, if madden was a Manager (I really like to have one). But it's a sports game, the franchise could be so much cooler but I'm not paying 60 Money to look at a boring spreadsheet view. So I play all the games in the season. I like to build the up the team I'm managing but I also like to play. So most of the building process happens in my head, backstories why a certain player has been cut etc.

A few things i like doing is .....

keeping an eye on the stat-tracker during games as well as checking the season stats after every week. If i notice a lower rated guy has a big game, I will actually go give him a manual edit boosting his ratings. For example I noticed Jamison Crowder had a massive game in week 4 or 5 (7 catches, 160, and 2 TD's), So i went in and gave him a near 90 rating to keep him heavily involved in Washingtons offense.


I look at injury reports for other teams... If i see a WR injured on a depth chart and out for a few weeks. I will randomly pick one of the lower rated WR's on that team and give him a mid 80 rating so he has a chance to shine with the opportunity.

I like ot do offense only. Never been a fan of playing d or the choices available to you when playing D. 13 minute quarters give good numbers using super sim.
