Never understood why people get mad when their favorite player is rated "low"..

If someone is 90 overall with the worst guy at the position being a 70..

Is it not better if he is a 70 overall but the lowest is 30?

I have a hard time believing that rating NFL starters in the 50s is going to fly with the bulk of Madden's market, including NFL players. I'm fine with a much wider ratings spread, but I'll believe this report when I see it (and if/after they've held their ground in the face of clamoring fans and players).

I don't mean to be cynical, but Madden drastically departing from their established ratings system is so hard for me to imagine that my first instinct is to think this report is fake or off-base in some way.

Please correct me if I'm wrong--I would love to be!

Yes it’s a legit report, they mentioned it during the stream tonight and it’s in the official EA website’s blog.

Lower ratings are a good thing. Don't play much '19 franchise, but in '18, using Armors sliders and TDawg's (?) reduced XP sliders, the game played really good.

Of course, there's often a difference between what they tell us now and what we get at release and in post-patch support, but I'd love to see them beat the curmudgeon out of me with a game that delivers on the promises of hype season.

Yes, Yes, Yes, Yes!!!!

First thing I shared with Clint at EA Play 2yrs ago, was that there was no grind to win games or the Super Bowl in Franchise

Folks might not see this up front (esp those that just want to knock Madden in general) but, having starters in the 50’s now makes roster decisions, Draft in particular, have a tangible application during gameplay with 3rd round through undrafted Free Agents having functionality now.

There has to be some type of “Global Editing” functionality added for the end user with all these new injections.

Also would be nice if they dropped a “Franchise Ready Default Roster” separately at release so folks can jump right into their Franchise day 1.

Man EA going all in on change geezes. Who are these people a 10-100 rating scale. Starters rated 50 overall. I love it. I don't recall any sports game doing this and most franchise guys have wanted this scale in all sports games for like 20 years. I hope other sports games follow.

I'm guessing older superstars like Brady is still going to be in the 90s etc. I thinks it's going to affect more of the middle, rookies, & lower tier players. Can't wait to get more info on this.

I just hope they stick to it and don’t end up changing it back after having players complain about their rating. Also will generated draft classes be tuned to the new player ratings?

Yes, draft classes will fit better inside the rating structure than they have in the past actually.
