Kicking meter glitch

I haven't experienced it for 5 games now. I deleted my profile, started a new franchise and used the preseason unedited roster and it has worked for me so far. Unsure if this is what causes it but it has worked for me and I have deleted profiles and started a new franchise before the update and it didn't work. It is the only other change I have made other than downloading the update.

Had this happen to me for the first time tonight on a late-game punt. Fortunately the game was well out of reach by that point, but yeah...

I wasn't doing anything particularly different, I called the punt from the suggestions menu after I failed to get a first down while holding a big lead late, and I had the chew clock mode on because I was killing the last minute. I had several punts and field goals earlier in the game and it showed up fine until that one.

It didn't really hit me immediately because I saw the kicking arc and then realized "oh, I don't have a kick meter, this is that thing everyone was talking about". If I'd been thinking more about it I'd have tried to push Triangle, R1 or L1 for the alternate kicks to see if it did anything. Or called timeout.

I did record the whole sequence, but from what I've seen they have more than enough video of the problem, and I don't have anything specific in there that I think could have caused it. Looking at it objectively chew clock was the only difference in the circumstances around all of the earlier kicks and this last one. Might be something to experiment with (leaving it off, I mean) for those who are constantly experiencing it, especially if it's happening in late-game situations - those are the most common times chew clock would be used.

I've giving up on kicking field goals during forth quarters and go for it on a 4th and long b/c of this problem. Really hope they can fix this soon.....

I had it happen twice on Day One, but haven't seen it since. Weird how it just comes and goes.

A couple times, it happened to guys when someone used ice the kicker. The meter does not show at all ( but thats not actually how ice the kicker has worked before you start the meter moving in the past). After that no one who kicks the ball has a kick meter at all.

Some guys it just happened in the 4th quarter without anyone icing the kicker. So the only thing "triggering" it is just the simple fact they are picking FG in playbook and when they come out to line up, there is a kicking arch, but no sign of kick meter.


At first i thought maybe it was an issue with custom books and people not setting all their audibles . In past that would make a person sometimes come out in punt formation even though they actually picked a normal play to run on any down.

But turns out it is happening to people with stock books too. So thats not it.
Its not quarter lengths because i hear it happens in MUT and I think that is only played on 4-5 minute quarters.

I kinda feel like for everyone whom has it happen , the best way to narrow this down is they list every single setting they have. Not simply sim/comp/arcade , quarter lengths etc. But actual settings they use for everything in the settings area. See if there is a common setting that everyone who has it happen has set the same , then compare to those who have not seen it and see if those settings are different for them.

Outside of that , ive got no other idea how to try to help them track it down.

I haven't seen it...I have ALL the visual aids turned-off in my games. Wonder if it's something with the graphics package for onfield assists that bugs it out?

Well thats a good thought. I feel like its probably something along those lines. Just would take us all putting together our settings for those whom it does happen to and some whom it dont, and try to deduce from there.

The fact have played a lot of games and its not happened once, to me points to some setting that is different for those it does happen to. Which could be a logical reason maybe they are not seeing it ea, whatver it is , maybe they all have same settings so they are not having it ?

I dunno , our league and many other online leagues are racking our brains trying to figure it out , but im not sure anyone is sitting down and manually listing all these settings out to really try see if we can pin point it

If we could just find the setting causing it ( if it is that) then we could at least have a temp fix until ea fixes it in a patch.
