And the swing pass to my RB is truly my checkdown now because the route is only good if the flats are not covered and downfield is. As it should be.
I'm a try that I guess, I haven't been playing madden for a couple of years, can you tell me how to shade

It's a coverage audible..hit X on the 360 to bring up shading.

This is a perfect example of people complaining and not knowing the game. What sucks is that people read these complaints and assume they are true after seeing enough of them.

As for the AI not stopping the slant, many times it is true, but it will adjust to you after a while and have LBs camp in zones. I don't mind that because I am more into online and using offline as practice.

Wrong, there is no shading in Madden 09. The X button is just for normal play audibles.

You're the one that doesn't know the game. There is no shading in Madden 09.

LOL. You are definitely wrong. It actually may be Y (not at home to look), but there is shading for sure. This is incredible that people do not know this.

Re: Are "out routes" defendable?

what he is refering to is shading the safeties zone in a man cover 2 or in any zone coverage. You cant make your corner shade the reciever though.what people are talking about by shading ias ligning up the corner on the recievers inside shoulder, (to keep him from getting a good inside release), or the outside shoulder. (to keep him from getting a good outside release.) This cannot be done in madden.

Shading is when you make a cornerback play a step inside or outside of a receiver. Madden 06 had this but Madden 09 does not.

I was referring to me being able to throw slants against people online all day long..... As long as they are running man coverage it is a guarantee.
