The longest you've played franchise mode

I routinely play 20-30 year franchises. I play nearly every game with the team that I have selected. Now and then I will sim the preseason depending on how much roster turn over I have.

Some things I thought I would test was:

Take a 0-0 Brand New Head Coach and completely dominate and see what happens.

• His stats did not go up as much I would expect when winning the SB 5 out of 10 years.

• Any time you win three super bowls in a row your coaching staff nearly all quits. They are still out there for you to hire, but if you win a 4th year, they will quit again. (Eh?)

I enjoy trying different one dimensional schemes.

• Currently, I have a bruiser RB that averages 5 ypc, and all my O-line is heavily run blocking biased.
• In the past, I have run 3-4 with a man-to-man emphasis, or a zone emphasis, 4-3 with m2m or zone emphasis.
• This year I am trying the 5-2 and Bear formation. The 5-2 has alot of promise but since we can't create our own plays anymore (*sob* PC version) it has a poorly designed play book. Often they have a DE covering a WR. And that is just bad.

Finally, if a team is kicking tooshie as a bruising running team, I will attempt in one year to totally flip them to a shotgun, run-n-gun team. So there are tons of trades, FA change outs, drafts, etc...

I usually play 2 full 30 season teams per version of Madden.

In my Bills franchise I went 11-5 the first year and lost to the Colts in the AFC Championship. We had the league's best defense. Our run game was amazing. Passing game? ehhh... In the offseason I added better offensive linemen, Chester Taylor, Eddie Royal, Anthony Gonzalez, Randy McMichael, Andre Goodman, Ryan Broyles, LaMichael James, and Tank Carder. Our offense and defese both dominated. I remember once I was up 35-0 on the Rams after the first quarter. We were like 5-1. My game kept freezing so I sent ot to EA Sports with 20 bucks to get a new copy and I don't think franchises carry over from copies.

My frst season:
Finished my Bills season. Before the season started I traded for Fred Davis. I traded for Chaz Schilens in week 6. Over the course of the season I signed a few linemen, Sam Acho, Roc Carmichael, Dhani Jones, and Roy Williams. I started off winning the first 5 or 6 games. Then I went through a rough patch but found myself going 11-5 and winning the AFC East. My defense was first in yards allowed, points allowed, passing yds allowed and was 2nd in rushing yards allowed. My offense was top 5 in rushing but almost last in passing. I had Jairus Byrd out for the playoffs.In the wild card round I faced the 9-7 Dolphins who beat me twice in the regular season; 7-22 and 10-24. Down 17-7 with 2 seconds left in the half I had the ball on the Dolphins 2 yard line. Chan Gailey lined his team up for the field goal. As soon as Brad Smith had the snap he rolled right until he found TE Shawn Nelson for a TD. Ryan Lindell kicked a last minute feild goal to give the Bills a 27-24 win. Our defense had 5 picks. Next up was the Steelers. With Big Ben out the Steelers only scored on 2 broken coverages and a fumble return. Buffalo wins 37-21. Next up are the 13-3 Colts. Star linebacker Nick Barnett is out. Kelvin Sheppard and Dhani Jones will start at MLB. With 3 minutes left the Bills took a 17-14 lead. Manning was driving trhe Colts down the field. He therew a long pass to Reggie Wayne that was intercepted with 2 minutes left. Luckily the Colts had 3 timeouts left. On third and 2 rookie RB Jonnie White was handed the ball he got a first down but was crushed and fumbled the ball. The Colts recovered on the Bills 30. 5 plays later Manning threw a 5 yard TD pass to Austin Collie. 21-17. The Bills got the ball with a minute left. With 10 seconds left Stevie Johnson caught a pass down the sideline at the Colts 5 yard line. Somehow he was caught in bounds and the game ended with the Bills scrambling to the line. It was a great season. Marcel Dareus won Defensive rookie of the year. Pro bowlers are Nick Barnett(injured), Jairus Byrd(injured), Marcel Dareus, Kyle Williams, and Bryan Scott.

Madden 2003 Played through the 2008 Season with the Rams. Traded Warner the first Year for Peyton Manning and midway through the franchise my team on offense consisted of Manning, Faulk, T.O, Moss and Tony Gonzalez with Ray Lewis and Charles Woodson leading the defense. Faulk Retired with every rushing record in the books and i decided to call it quits there because I just simply could not loose. had some great times with that franchise and i still have the same

Madden 98 - 7 seasons with the Bears

NFL 2k5 - 18 seasons

College Hoops 2K5 - 18 seasons. Worked my way up from WIU on up to North Carolina.

NCAA 04 - 15 seasons. Started with Army and ended up with Florida St.

NBA 2K8 - 3 seasons with the Bulls.

FIFA 10 - 13 seasons. Honestly I find FIFA franchise mode much more fun then Madden.

MLB The Show 09 - 7 seasons with the White Sox

2004 With the Arizona Cardinals. Got to year 12 with them, won two superbowls. Got to a third and lost on a last second 55 yard field goal. Ah, the glory days of madden!

8 seasons with the 49ers in madden 11 is my longest. Other than that I've never had a franchise mode outside of a college sports game hold my interest. It gets to a point where you have no clue who players are and you have no connection to them.

Madden 08. Played til 2019 with the Chargers. I LOVED it. I drafted a 6'4 250 lb HB that had over 90 speed and over 90 break tackle. I remember getting 2,500 yards wth that guy.

I did 7 years back in Madden 10 with the Titans. Vince Young turned into one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL. Won the Super Bowl in year 4 and made the AFC title game in year 5 and 6. Lost Young in a pre-season game in year 7 and finished the year with Tim Tebow and going 6-10.

Didn't ever finish year 8 as I just kind of lost the interest and never really played Madden 10 after that. Been awhile since I went that long, but I can usually mustard together at least 2 seasons on any franchise.
