For PSP Madden 08 I figured out how to make default rosters and season schedule by editing template.dat file. Need to add to iso under data and teamsel folder. Then start the game old rosters will show at first. Start a new franchise than quit dont save and rosters will be new. Still trying to figure out coaches and contracts.

Reeshmd23 thank you for your many efforts and contributions over the years, like many many others, I am grateful!
I have a fair understanding of the PSP file structure, successfully adding ISO files, game saves etc. That said, I am completely unaware as to how or where to place this template.dat file? Is it actually part of the Madden 08 ISO and it needs to be extracted and rebuilt somehow?

Got to rebuild iso using umdgen. Replace template file in main dir under user data and subfolder teamsel. Still need to fix contracts and salary cap. Basically when you add this template when you first boot the game it will have default rosters. If you start a franchise then quit it without saving the rosters will be updated you can then save them if you want. Also you can start a franchise normally and all rosters and preseason and regular season schedule will be current. Still trying to figure out coaches and contracts but it's a good start. Also I have updated some uniforms that you would also update with umd gen. Only issue everytime I try and attach them on here it gives me an error. I didn't do all because its time consuming and I never figured out how to mod the current jersey numbers which is a pain. I was successful changing a midfield logo but the shadow of the old seemed to show some kind of lighting thing.

What I would do now is dump stadiums and uniforms from madden 12 on psp all the viv files. Then import them on madden 08 along with the template file using umdgen. Then after all that's done import the uniforms I modded once I figure out how to upload them.

Thank you for following up with these details, very helpful. I am running into a freezing issue when trying to start a new franchise. When rebuilding the ISO using UMDGen, I assume I just save it as a new ISO after replacing the template.dat file?

Just want to ask if you are going to release also new season rosters? I mean "classic" rosters save files - no templates, no modding
