Depends on your definition of realism...

At 36, guys like Desean Jackson and Chris Johnson are going to very blatantly outrun almost anyone on the field with ease with any kind of space, theoretically, that's realistic.

At 58 though they'll need to have not only space, but a good step or two on a defender to run on down the field, that's more realistic imo, with that said, it will appear as if they less readily outrun everyone. It *LOOKS* less realistic than what you see on highlight reels, but is ultimately more realistic, again, imo.

Personally... I think 64 is best. I've been using it since Madden 10 and I stand by it.

Thanks, was just curious as PM originally used 36 I believe as it was the lowest speed in the game based on player attributes. But now I see 58 as optional? Optional instead of 36 or 58 is the official number in PM's sliders.

Re: Playmakers Madden 11 Custom Sliders

With the locomtion the way it is I think the running game is absurdly easy. I just put up 300 td's rushing against the jets with AP. My biggest problem is AI defenders will be right next to me for a moment but won't engage a tackle animation. This is with threshold at 58. I bumped it to 70 and put Tackling to 100 to increase the AI tackle radius.

Re: Playmakers Madden 11 Custom Sliders

I'm having difficulties rationalizing the Human QB accuracy. I understand the need to make the pass game more realistic, and I really want to see it that way, but some of the passes that I miss are just plain ridiculous/bordering unbelievable. I am using Cutler, so I know this is an issue with him, but I wish that the sliders would tune the accuracy so he would miss his target in increments instead of hitting the target right on, or missing by forever.

The other thing I'm realizing with ANY slider set is that these things WILL happen in any given game:

1. One team will start running good in the first half. That team will not run as well in the second half.

2. The inverse reaction occurs, and the other team that didn't run well will start busting off runs in the 3rd QTR and so on.

3. One teams CBs will totally allow some BS catches to be made without putting any effort into defending.

4. One teams OL will inexplicably allow men to just run right around while they pick their nose.

Now it seems to me that tuning sliders is half about which side of all those things you want to be on.

The whole thing about that is I can't stand (read: HATE) seeing my RB start slowing down in the open field, as if the other teams DBs cast a magic spell on him.

In real life, elite speed players can still outrun slower LBs and such even when the LBs have 2 steps on them. They can usually make it up by their 3rd stride and by that time are off to the races.

Saints vs Packers (me)

Saints
Drew Brees: 15/28, 301 yards, 1 Td
Reggie Bush: 12 carries, 195 yards, 3 Td's
Devery Henderson: 1 catch, 94 yards, 1 Td

Packers
Aaron Rodgers: 30/44, 390 yards, 3 Td's
Ryan Grant: 22 carries, 72 yards, 1 Td
James Jones: 11 catches, 156 yards, 2 Td's

Overall, the game played well except for Reggie Bush's unbelievable speed. Packers didn't get too much pressure on Brees til the end of the game when they sacked him 3 times. Rodgers was pretty accurate with his passes and on a few occasions went 3 and out. Only 2 or 3 dropped balls for the Packers. Final score, Packers 41 - Saints 34.

Fumbles occurred in this game as well but my obsession with juking and spinning led to the 2 that I had. Saints fumbled once on a Brees sack, once on a Bush run and once on another run by Hamilton.

Used the new settings and it played GREAT!!!!!

Good job PM. You figured out the numbers my man! You're on to something. Too bad the EA programmers can't confirm your theories. You should ask them for fun.

Re: Playmakers Madden 11 Custom Sliders

If you play as washington, i suggest bumping donovan mcnabb's user quarterback accuracy to 100...

Also, I'm seeing something (the game got out of hand so I went away from caring and then starting tinkering with things regarding gameplay) disturbing... You can totally reverse the side of the playing field and run back punts to no end.

I ran back a 75 yarder and an 86 yarder back to back for scores. Take him one direction (once you break past the original defender or two) and then totally take him back the other direction. a wall is usually built and it's easy. i hate it, but it's an apparent game exploit. i used the punt return middle, so i didn't use the punt block (of which i won't because it's an automatic 20 yard return).

Also, a suggestion regarding special teams:

bump fg accuracy to 15 and fg power to 50. i'm still seeing good kickers miss wide and i had washington's kicker (4 mph wind at my back) miss from 48 when i was true down the middle and nailed the bar perfectly at 100% max power and straight down the middle.

akers missed short and right from 47 yds as well.
