Going to be patching tonight so looking forward to an update at some point soon Bill, I'll be testing anything you care to throw at us.

Re: Bill's Realism Sliders (only Coach Mode for now)

I have played my first post-patch game and my initial impression is that much less tweaking will be needed than we had feared.

I'm not a subscriber to the theory that the settings must be the same for the HUM/CPU. I've seen too much stat difference to be married to that idea, and I have a suspicion that the game has a built-in bias toward the human player. I found it necessary to decrease the effectiveness of my QB, while I also needed to boost the settings for the CPU QB (pre-patch #3), to lower and raise the completion percentages. We're talking a disparity of >70% for HUM and <50% for the CPU with QBA 25/25.

Where my pre-patch settings differed from Bill's:

QBA: 21/30
WRC: HUM 45
PDREAC: HUM 80

Fatigue: 62

15 min qtr., 25 sec. runoff

I use a sub ratio of 89/92 for the RB's.

And I use these coaching scheme settings for my CPU opponent:

Run/Pass: 60 (Pass heavy), 50 (Balanced) or 40 (Run heavy)
Off. Aggr.: 0

4-3 Defense: Run/Pass 60, Aggr. 20

3-4 Defense: Ru/Pass 40, Aggr. 40

In evaluating the total numbers from this game, keep in mind that it went 12 1/2 minutes into OT.

Also note that at halftime I increased CPU QBA to 35. In the first half, with CPU QBA at 30, McCown went 5-21. In the second half plus OT, with CPU QBA at 35, he went 19-28.

Good looking game there, nice slow score, no turnovers (too many on Madden usually).

Especially nice since we've had a patch and the sliders haven't been tweaked TOO much.

Only slight worry is the 3rd down version, feels pretty low for both teams.

That one broke a string of games that included a defensive TD, and it was the first time this season that every touchdown was scored from inside the 10. High-scoring games have been rare in my season. Going back to Madden 10, 3rd down conversions have been weak in my games. This season, a lot of that is because Washington doesn't have a running game. If I run on 1st and 2nd down, I'm usually looking at 3rd and 5 or worse.

I had a chise with the redskins and McNabb.. as good as he is ratings-wise I was dead last in the league in 3rd down conversion %.. I find that Donavan oft goes for the homeruns and stuff rather than take what the defense gave him

part of the low 3rd down % is McNabb he tries too hard to make plays imo

You might know this all ready but, one thing that helps is calling plays with the main receiver (the one highlighted in red) running a route in the distance that you need for a first down. Also audibling the RB to block helps prevent a short dump off. It seems like after the main receiver the RB dump is always the second choice. When he blocks it will force you to throw to a receiver down the field. Works pretty well for me.

I also hot route receivers away from deep routes to reduce home run attempts.

Re: Bill's Realism Sliders (only Coach Mode for now)

I'm curious with these sliders the game feels kinda loose, however
I get the best pass rush versus some other sliders that have
much highere pass rush settings

Might that be do to the high reaction time?
