Don't you actually control when you get fired?

Quick question for everyone. Do people play the LBs or D-lineman or safeties for run defense? Do you switch and take control. I need to get a handle on my run D. When teams play me, the run for them is the pass, the pass is the run. I got gashed by Reggie Bush, 37-248. Craziness.

Never had these problems before, I guess the red is harder than anticipated. I played green before. No expert, but a lot of times it seems like my guys totally take the wrong lanes, or on blitzes just let the RB run right by when they have a free run on it. I play man D, cuz that's how I drafted my corners. Don't blitz a tonne, but I do on occasion. I find blitzes make it worse.

Are you doing any line shifting in anticipation where the run might go? You need to do that all the time. Shift your Dline and LBs or pinch them in. You have to be creative. I can't understand how you are getting destroyed like that with those settings. Maybe you are making things worst on the line by giving the runners open lanes to go through. If you aren't making an impact on the line you need to start controlling another position. If you are going to stick to controlling the Dline I guess you need to lower there runblocking down 5 more points..

Damn that is crazy how you be getting lid up like that. I wish I could see how you be playing defense against the pass. What was the score in that game?

Besides the passing how are the other tweaks playing out? You raised the rest of the settings to the blue set and put the CPUs rush defense to the black set right?

That game ended up in the 40s for both teams, I think (sorry, not at my PS3 now, don't remember exactly.) I'll get the box score from it and post it later today.

Yeah, everything else is at blue except CPU rush D which is at black. Overall, things are playing really well. My own passing numbers are within realistic numbers now, with great games in the mid-70s and average games in high 50s to mid 60s in completion percentage. Putting CPU rush D on the black set has stopped me from running for 300 yards in a game now, though I still do well with the run - but it is usually close to realistic numbers for a team based around the running game.

I've had some games where my pass defense is fine, and the game plays out realistically. But then the very next game it's like my secondary just decides to be moronic - I'm going through the same scheme I was the previous game, but my players feel like their reaction times are cut in half. It is very weird. I had a game where the CPU literally did not miss a pass until the third quarter. It was insane.

It almost feels like my team just has regular games where my entire secondary all go on cold streaks at the same time and decide they won't pay attention to what is actually happening on the field. The CPU will brazenly throw passes directly into double coverage, but my secondary doesn't even react to the ball being in the air until it is already caught. And then for no apparent reason the next game they play alright. Maybe I just suck at it, and the games that go well are just ones that I'm learning more?

That being said, this is going to be a rough couple seasons for me. A huge amount of my star players are over 32 years old now, and when they are all start retiring it is going to be brutal for me. Jared Allen retired last year, Robison will probably be gone this year as well as Chad Greenway, Bullitt. And on offense....the great Adrian Peterson is getting old now - and so is my entire system of run blockers I've spent all these seasons developing. It's going to be rough.

Sheesh, this was an overly long post. My bad, lol.

Yeah it sounds like the stats are looking better. The scores might still be a little too high but but hopefully it balances out next season. If it doesn't you probably need to crank the CPUs pass defense to the black set to make things tighter..

Yeah you definitely need to start adding some young talent to your team.. I'm always drafting some young guys to build up and replace my older players. It's been working out prerty good for me too. I have a lot of young talent on my team that are starting to play now because my guys are retiring.

Yeah, I ran into serious salary cap problems last season. I overpaid to keep my stars with me. I have young WR, HB, and CB talent. Need to start balancing out the rest of my positions, -especially- my offensive line. I win because of those guys. My entire OL are 94 or higher, hence my running game.

EDIT: One thing I have noticed with drafted players: my defensive players have a much harder time gaining xp than my offensive players. With how much the CPU breaks tackles and how rarely my secondary can actually hold onto the ball for a pick (They catch about 1 out of every 10 that squarely hits their hands), their stats are always subpar. It is almost always my SS or MLB I am usering that actually tackles the CPU ballcarrier, and I only get about 8 picks a season.

How will cranking up the cpu pass defense help make it tighter? For one sounds like he is a running team 2 he cant stop the cpu offense from scoring? He needs to get better on defense or he will get blown out if he makes it harder for himself to play offense. Wouldnt you think? Defitently need to draft well and start pluggin them guys in last season i played with a rookie mlb,fs ss and Lt it was hard but it was worth it cause now all 4 of them are playing really well.
