While I personally wouldn't use it, I think it's a good idea. I would suggest focusing more on the core depth and presentation of franchise first, but if it can be done additionally, I tend to fall in the "more options the better" crowd.

I think it's a decent idea. I hope you guys don't go totally out of your way to make it happen and push other stuff to the back. In all honesty I probably wouldn't get much use out of the feature because by Week 2 of the NFL season I am usually starting Season 2 of my franchise.

I wouldn't use it, dealing with injuries like that is why I play fantasy football.

Having said that the more options the better.

I've had this idea for a few years that it might be cool to have some option for Franchise mode where you could give up all the roster management stuff and let that happen via an internet download...thus if you are playing with/against the Titans in week 2, Vince is out and you have to deal with that. I heard that NBA 2k's big online feature is that it parses rosters at all times through the NBA website...I would say this could be something similar to that (I don't know if theirs are valid in Franchise mode).

Any thoughts on the idea? Would you use it? If you are Johnny Pats Fan, be honest...will you or would you play along with the season without Brady?

Disclaimer: I'm definitely not promising this for 2010, 2011, or any Madden for that matter. Just wondering what you guys think of the idea...treat me like any other message board poster with an idea. Along with that, mods, don't be telling me to put this in the wishlist thread. (Just messing with you all ...sorry...you guys are doing an awesome and thankless job)
I'd love that. BUT give us the option to un-injure the injured. I would love to have the injured players injured but I'm a huge Brady fan so I'd take him off the list and leave everyone else as IRL.

Re: With these big injuries...what do you do in Franchise?

I used to try to emulate the real NFL as well. But I found myself going , while trying to capture roughly the same results as I was seeing in the true NFL season (as far as Win Loss records). It was really this past year when I went back to playing NFL2K5 (don't kill me ) with pretty much default rosters that I realized how much fun I could have with my own franchise, drafting my own players, etc. Prior to going back to 2K5, I was sort of a one-season-and-done franchise player b/c I didn't like "fake" rosters. Now I enjoy doing my own thing in franchise and look forward to a robust franchise mode in Madden 2010.

To answer the question, I don't think I'd use the 'proposed' franchise idea.

Re: With these big injuries...what do you do in Franchise?

I personally thing its a great idea. I just mentioned something along these lines in the MADDEN 2010 WISHLIST thread..I always wanted sports games to adapt to whats really going on in the real life sport. I just started a franchise after the roster update came out and was thinkin of ways to get Brady and Merriman and Burleson not to play, for a quick fix I just edited their attributes so low that there is now way they would start. I would love the whole "live franchise" mode but like I stated in the wishlist thread, we need something like NBA live is doing with the DNA...I want surprise teams to actually win and be good and the good teams from last year that are gonna stumble, I dont wanna see them in the super bowl in madden just becuase they were good last year......If Atlanta somehow has a break out year in real life and goes 10-6 or 11-5, this would never happen in madden 09 based on their overall ratings....Im rambling but you get what im saying I hope

I agree 100%....except im still the "one season and done franchise player" and I hate the fake rosters but I am really trying to get out of this thinking cuz like you said it will drive you batty! I remember editing teams like the saints that year they went to the NFC championship game just to make them better and try to get their record better so they could make the playoffs eventho in no way am I a saints fan lol
