That's the reason that the Shoulder Barge/Lunge button was also a good idea. I'm not saying 2k5 was perfect or even "realistic" but at least they TRIED to use physics in their game and give you control of that.

Madden football is pretty much no different than flag football, except instead of a pre-programmed animation of someone ripping off a flag, you get a cheesy, arcade-like animation of a guy flying backwards or going down. Basically, you do nothing other than avoid contact all game, b/c soon as contact starts, you lose control of the player, which means no fun!
+1

Well said! I've share this sentiment for years.

Never remove the hitstick please.

Every single casual player loves it. UNloading a huge hit, or wiffing the tackle.

Mike Sellers - FB - 260+ LBs of the Washington Redskins rountinely gets run over by safeties in Madden. That should not be happening. Guys that big don't get laid out by anyone.

I'm pretty sure we already do... Everyone in the NFL tackles like that... Didn't ya know... They all run like Moss, catch like Fitz and tackle like Dawks... Welcome to Madden 10

Re: Confirmed: The Hitstick Will Be Much More Realistic

Did you play Madden 09?

They had branching animations. Tackles were anything but predetermined.

You could actively break tackles as you were going down.
