Re: Update on feedback from yesterday's franchise blog...

Anything that doesn't tell you exactly where the future of a player lies is a good move. Letters are better, but not ideal IMO. If potential is not set in stone and can change, then I think that combined with letters is acceptable. Ideally though, I don't see why it should be shown at all. It should exist, but I'd prefer not to know if there isn't an advanced system in place that could mean your reports on player potential are off. If what we're told is 100% accurate, I don't want to know it.

A++ on the min rating, that's a cool idea.

When people say 'randomly generated', I don't think that necessarily means 100% random. Madden has never been 100% random from what I can see in this regard - generated classes are, I'm sure, generated randomly but with certain critera that has to be met, or can't be exceeded. For example, there can't be more than X players with a rating over 80, where X itself is randomly generated between a min and max value. Basically, a generator should have code which makes sure SPD and ACC aren't worlds apart, and that accessories make sense, etc. It shouldn't literally be "random", just much more random than preset classes. The idea is to never see the same class twice - there should still be measures in place to limit issues that come with entirely random ouput like inconsistent ratings.

And as long as their are enough draft classes, pre-made is definitely the way to go.
Ahh I forgot to comment on the premade rookies...anyways, absolutely the right decision when you put it into that context.

I like the letter grade for potential, because if you watch the draft now days on TV, they don't get a number, its just not realistic now is it, they give letter grades for players, teams draft clases, etc.

I'd like to see a presentation update in franchise where some analyst from the NFL network grades my draft class with a letter.

This would be fantastic.

We're keeping it to what you see on Sunday's afterall right?

Josh, will the Draft Clipboard look like in HC 09? The clipboard/screen of the Madden 09 Draft is pretty annoying and boring.

Would love it to be like in HC 09 where it looks like in real life ESPN for example. And please make the computer picks take longer time until they're in. Not just 3 seconds like in Madden 09.

Thanks!

Great Blog...It really clears up a lot of confusion. I think I would like to see letter potential rather than a number...i don't know about anyone else but I think that with numbers it causes a lot of confusion so I think adding letters would be easier to use and it would bring a new twist to franchise players.

Re: Update on feedback from yesterday's franchise blog...

A letter grade would be better... anything from letting us know exactly what it is will help.

Also, are you able to clarify if a player can actually exceed or fall short of their predetermined potential? I think that is a very important aspect, and would love to see something like that done. The impression I got from your blog, and I could certainly be wrong, is that a player could not exceed his potential period and I hope there will a little bit of flexibility there.

Thanks and once again, its great to see you guys mingle with us
