^^^ The grass was unforgiveable, lol. Art deserves eternal damnation for such a blasphemous act.

ive tried playing 2k5 over and over and i just could not make my self like it. i still dont know what all the hype is about, 2k5 and especially APF cant touch madden. the graphics are better on madden and from the video they only have 2 man gang tackling just like madden 09. the good things about that vid is the QB drop back and the camera angle which you cant play in.

I always liked the way madden played more than the 2k football games during last gen. Madden moved more fluid in my opinion and becuase of it I had way more fun playing Madden than the 2k football games last gen. However, 2k always had the upper hand when it came to presentation (obviously) and animations (much more realistic).

A game that has the fluidity of the last gen madden games combined with the animations and the presentation of the 2k football games would be great and by the looks of it, Madden 10 is shaping up to be that game.

I would rather have a rehash with new rosters (which is what 2k fanboys describe madden as being) instead of a game that takes 3 years to make that ends up being worse than it's predecessor at triple the price.
Lets get the history straight:

Since 2006, Madden on the 360/PS3 has been flops. Madden 09 caught Madden up to its last gen best game 2005 feature wise and madden "fanboys" to this day are still saying gameplay wise Madden 2005 is better than Madden 2009.

The "2k fanboys" would have loved a update to 2k5 that allowed them to create whatever team they want since the EA/NFL license deal did not allow for NFL teams in ANY update 2K would have made.

Instead they got 2K8, the best playing football game on the planet (even as we speak) gameplay wise. It lacks all the other stuff that made 2K5 special to all the "2k fanboys" but even with that being said alot of guys STILL play 2K8. Which shows the strength of that game despite "lacking" all the stuff Madden 09 has.

They also did not work on 2k8 the whole 3 years in that gap between 2k5 and 2k8.

If you gonna tell a story tell it right.....

lol wow...

I was never going in depth with how things were. All I was doing is explaining the hypocrisy with the bashing. 2k fans bashed Madden for it being bare bones... 2k8 was bare bones and yet they didn't bash it as much. That's all I was saying.

And you are probably right that it didn't take a full 3 years to make 2k8 (I was just saying that since that was the gap between 2k5 and 2k8), though, I'm pretty sure that they did have more than just one year to come up with ideas. Still though, while the animations in 2k8 are better than 2k5 is that enough to warrant a purchase when the predecessor had more features and was released at 1/3 of the price?

When 2K annonced they were making a game it caught everyone by surprise. No one knew if they were ever gonna make another game because of the License issue.

Someone at 2K had mercy on the people who wanted another 2K game, and gave the go ahead to make another football game. All they hype you are seeing now about Madden 2010 was going on then about 2K8 because like now no one knew a whole lot of details about what features the game would have. All we knew was it was gonna be based around legends.

Just like now when 2K dropped their "world premier" trailer it was met with ALOT of disappointment. That and the fact it would have no franchise mode pissed alot of people off, even the 2k5 "fan boys" Those who just wanted a better playing football game than 2K5 and were not much into franchise modes anyway were still hyped for the game.

Long Story short the game delievered on what its intent was, and that was to be a polished 2k5 on the field.

There is no game currently available that:

1. Has the player ratings so nailed for each position that each player has their own uniqueness to them.
2. Has the animations and feel that it has.
3. Has the strategic balance that it has.
4. Has well put together online leagues.

The depth Ap2k8 gave was on the field for those who loved to play a "football" game.

Yeah I see what you are saying and all but, imo the game just didn't have enough to it to warrant the $60 price tag.

A good amount of 2k5 fans agree and imo, it would seem like more who liked 2k5 would too.

+1 Nothing has come even close for me personally.
