I don't agree with you here. Due to the nature of the Bears offense Cutler is going to excel if he plays within the confines of the system. He has an all purpose back in Forte, 2 nice receiving TE's in Olson and Clark, a deep threat in Devin Hester, and Earl Bennett a former college teammate who led the SEC in receiving during his junior year. Now add in Juaquin Iglesias a well rounded big target and a few other young wideouts and the Bears offense will be fine.

Last year we were able to move the ball and score with Kyle Orton at the helm. Cutler has greater physical abilities and will be able to stretch the field in a way that Kyle Orton couldn't. I love Kyle to death but his deep ball is still a work in progress. While the Bears could use an elite WR I think Cutler will be successful without one. With our upgraded offensive line and the addition of Cutler the Bears will be very effecient on offense.

What do you define as successful? He has a better defense than he had in Denver, so he won't be playing from behind as much...but he needs a big play receiver who can go get the ball for him...he's not the most accurate passer--I doubt Hester is going to win as many WR/DB matchups like Marshall did...Cutler's going to miss his weapons in Denver, but he'll have a better run game...I think Chicago still misses the playoffs, but Cutler has a decent season, stat-wise...then look for Chicago to add a playmaking WR either in FA or the draft next year...

I would define success as 25TD 10 Int or less season. If he has a year like that I think the Bears take the NFC North and set themselves up for a deep playoff run.

I agree that Cutler will eventually need to be coupled with a big time playmaker on the outside but I think his accuracy numbers are a bit low due to the strain he had to BEAR in Denver. I really think he could be a 60% completion type guy in our offense. While he doesn't have Marshall to lean on Olson,Clark, Forte, and Hester are sufficient enough to keep the chains moving over the course of a game.

P.S. Let's widen those Bears pants stripes!!
