Re: The spin move

I was waiting to bump this when M10 dropped but its already started some debate in the demo. So now with the demo being released how do you feel about the spin move?

This includes everything from the spin juke, the way the move move is performed, and ways to help improve the spin move ect ect.

Wow, seriously? This could not have been posted in the Demo Impressions thread instead of bumping a month-dead topic?

Yes and no. This topic is purely about the spin move and what every one feels about it. It is just like the running animations thread, colored cleats, ect ect before it. Those were single threads that were heavily discussed about one function of the game. It is also not solely about the demo. It was a topic about Madden's past and what might occur. Now that everyone has had a taste of M10, I was wanting to see what they thought about the spin move and what could be done to make it better or another way to implement it. If a mod feels this thread is no longer needed then he/she may close it. If you dont have anything constructive to contribute to the topic then please use the back button instead of posting.

From the video thread Millennium posted the other day. This would be classified as helping development and discussion of the game wouldnt it?

Guys, I know you are getting technical, but everyone sees what has been happening to this forum. A video gets posted, and it becomes a bloodsport in the thread. That's not how OS works, and until things calm down, I'm stopping the cause.

Wow, seriously? Who gives a ****. Who wants to dig through a thread with like 100 pages just to post one very specific aspect of the game which already had a thread of its own to be discussed in detail?

People hate new threads apparently, or threads about specific topics. Maybe we should just have 4 threads on the entire board: "Graphics" "Gameplay" "Franchise" "Online" and then every single comment about Madden can go in one of those 4 threads. Of course each one will be 9,000 pages deep so it will be loads of fun to read/respond to.

about the spin move: it does seem better in M10, with physics being factored in a little bit, but it's still a bit arcadish.

I have been looking at the spin move on kick returns and have found that the player does not set himself up for it. Instead, he loses a significant amount of speed all of a sudden when he attempts the spin. Do the ends justify the means..? IMO no.

I suppose that it was ment to simulate the RB setting himself up but IRL a player takes anywhere from 1-5 yards to setup the spin. Because they allow for the speed to just all of a sudden sap away it looks arcadish(is that even a word) and unrealistic. Maybe the solution would be to not allow a player to use the spin move if he is using the sprint button unless contact has been made.

Furthermore, I am finding the spin juke to be worse looking this year. I have had several times when the defender is moving at full speed in a direct path to hit my RB and if I spin the defender just shifts to the side and does the broken ankle animation instead of plowing through the backside of my RB.
