Wow. That's kind of a bummer. Hopefully now preseason means more for rookies and lesser known players. But monthly progression would mean quicker returns on the time spent with playing time. Not sure why it was taken out tho.

wow this blows. I was just about to start a thread about this asking if they would bring back the last gen mini-camp drills (except for the qb ones). This.... is very disappointing and Josh had better come up with a damn good explanation as to why this is so.

Re: So no mini drills or training

let's face it folks, Madden 09's training system sucked anyways. Am I really supposed to play a mini game with 3 players each week and have that be my training ground? It was more than stupid.

Now I'm not saying HC09's practice mode suggestions were perfect, but it was WAY better than Madden's training mini games... I'm glad it's gone.

Hopefully something replaces it that is much better.

I agree but I love progressing young rookies... if it's replaced with a better "practice" system then I'm all for it. But if there's nothing then how am I supposed to progress rookies without starting them and making them top 10 stat producers.

This. Will rookies progress on the bench?

Like, say I draft a player in round 7 with a 49 overall but his potential is 91. No way in heck is he going to see the field until he's at least in the 70s. If he doesn't get any stats, how is he going to progress to the point where he'd at least be competent enough to get playing time?

Since his potential is sky high, will he just go up +10 even if he sits on the bench all year?

I really don't care bout the mini drills and all that. I play the game and thorw the rookie in when am ready for him to play. No big deal.

I completely agree, I hated doing those stupid mini games, they made no sense to me. To me it was a unnecessary thing to do before every game because one you couldn't sim them and two your players did not progress unless you did them. Sorry but when I buy madden I want to play football not do a damn bench press mini game, I go to the gym for that.

For people that didnt want to use it..You never had to use it..but they shouldnt take it away from the people who want to progress their players.
