It's off topic, but those lines quoted below are one of the huge reasons I can't get into Madden like I used to. (1st Madden on PS2 was great).

But yeah, it's annoying how the game is kind of looked at in a Tekken sort of way. I guess that kind of adds to the heated debate on physics vs animations.

Interesting.

Nice post Only1LT. And boy do I hate cheese.

I'm not saying that BB is more sim or less, because I haven't played it enough to know. What I do know is that as it presently stands, Madden will never be a sim with current physics engine, poor collision detection, and AI that just screams out play that funky cheese play game boy.

Students of the game need not apply. How the heck is that sim?

You will never see the same exact tackle with Euphoria, but with Madden NFL 10 you will, which is okay for now.

I'm looking forward to the Madden NFL 10 demo next week for PS3 and 360

Perhaps you missed it, but Backbreaker has stated that they are going for more of a Blitz type game. As they don't have the NFL license... ahem... they made the decision to make their game vastly different than Madden.

All of which is a horrible mistake, in my opinion. That EA has no competition in football games, pro or college, has been made quite clear the past few years with massively inferior product being released. The glitches and cheese in Madden '09 was so horrible that I'm amazed people still kept their jobs. It's inexcusable for a company that has a tag line of "If it's in the game, it's in the game" to allow the kind of pathetic stuff to release that EA allows year in, year out.

Ian, I for one appreciate your commitment to Madden '10 and wish that you, or someone as passionate as you, would take over NCAA, because that game really needs help. That said, you are wrong about ball carriers not being able to fight for yardage in BB.

Because of the direction that BB is heading means that they want to showcase Blitz-style tackles, but there are also shots in some of their videos of guys getting hit... stumbling sideways and fighting, scratching and clawing for more yards.

I had held out hope that BB would be at least good enough to maybe force EA to rethink what they're doing and bring the Natural Motion/Euphoria engine to their games. Your comment, which is not based on any truth at all, leads me to believe that EA is going to stick with what they have and that is bad news for gamers everywhere.

please tell me where u got that from. im not even on BB like that but the articles i read says nothing about that bold statement. so please show me what article u got that from cause otherwise u just love to front.

there hasnt been a simulation football game since apf 2k8 and nfl 2k5. i know what u gone ask. well what makes madden then? well the answer is simple: TRASHDEN and will remain there till i see otherwise and madden 10 is not going to change the title its been holding for 4 consecutive years
