I do think a lot of people are missing what Ian said:

He didn't say you couldn't break tackles in BB. He said that, once the animation is set in motion it has a final outcome. With Madden, whether you like it or not, allows you some control after initial contact.

Watching the third video of BB(actual game play) you can clearly see players fighting for more yards...? You see a guy get completely worked and place his hand on the ground to recover then move forward and then a defensive player rails him. You can see a guy tackle from behind and the player keeps moving forward to shake the tackle. I really dont see how anyone can say that there is no "fight for more yards" after contact in the most recent video.

I can see what you mean about the branching tech though but without playing BB you can not really say or judge what its after/during contact interaction is like. This is the main reason why debates like this are fruitless. There is not enough info about BB to really compare it to anything.

How can that be, all these people are telling me that Euphoria is the greatest thing since sliced bread.

Ok, since everyone keeps on telling me how great Euphoria is, ever got hit by a car doing about 1 MPH in GTA? Well Poor Niko's Body goes limp like he just died.

I prefer Pro-Tak it looks a lot better(more realistic). Is it 100% accurate I would think not (it's a videogame). But Backbreaker the guys are flying through the air like superman. If I could change one thing it would be to change the animation's of the dive tackle and make it more realistic no 5yard superman diving on football games.

Re: pro tak vs backbreaker takle system

So many people take pro-tak as a gimmicky feature and that's not the case. When they first showed pro-tak in action, they showed a similar video in real life of Marion Barber getting tackled with about 8 people (offense and defense). Pro-tak is at the beginning stage of one of the most realistic looking football tackling for years to come. BB is not real football, people just jump up in the air and collide with each other. It just isn't football. Pro-tak can be amazing. All it needs to do for Madden 11, is add in more scenarios and make the transition from a player running through the middle into the pro-tak. Right now, you can sort of tell when the players are going into a pro-tak situation. If that just gets seamed out and blends into the gameplay without a slowing down of player speed into pro-tak, it will be amazing..

Then, when you add that and realistic locomotion, you got a great football game. You can add in little details like actual pileups. I thought they would be in this game actually, but they aren't. Pileups at the line during short distance plays and the running back just plows through and falls short but the refs can't really tell where he is because he's underneath everyone. Then just like fight for fumble, the refs pull everyone off and set the ball down and give a signal. Things like that will come. I'm still pleasantly waiting. Great work Ian and Co.

My question to pose (seriously) - would you be willing to give up the fact that the ballcarrier can no longer struggle for extra yards to have physics-driven tackles?
Real good point Ian. I wheather have the madden curren engine and the way they tackle on madden. Until they fix BB tackling system to make it look more real.
