...yeah...I actually googled Madden 10 glitches and found this site. Then I joined just to add my two cents. I have noticed SEVERAL of the aforementioned glitches when I play and most of them don't really affect the outcome of the game (chris collinsworth talking like a moron, random freezes and white screens, etc.), but many of them directly impact the game and detract from the overall playability. Examples:
1. the referee TD cinematic is nifty to watch, but not if they get the call wrong 50% of the time.
2. the same can be said for the chain gang (including when they come out). Do they really need to measure it when 3/4 of Marshawn Lynch's body is past the marker? Well, they do...and then they call it short as if the outcome is random anyway. I could watch replay after replay of a back crossing the marker with no knee down and wonder wtf the AI is thinking.
3. Super Sim ruined my season in Super Star mode. I was playing the Steelers in the Conference Championship game and I was down by a TD with 1:30 left...the super sim said I recovered the onside kick...I was jacked up! Then I deflated when I noticed the Super Sim kept on going and Mendenhall ran off the rest of the clock...total BS and an embarrassment for the manufacturer. It made me feel like EA has a boner for the Steelers and refused to let them lose the game.
My suggestion is that perhaps EA takes the time to test their games a little more so that they don't put out total crap like they did this time. Yeah, the game is pretty, but that is about it. You have an exclusive NFL contract meaning the only way we can enjoy NFL football gaming is to play your game...and we go out and buy it. The least you can do is give us a product that doesn't embarrass yourselves and the NFL. Like I said, some glitches are minor and don't affect game outcomes...but the ones that do just make me want to hate EA and the Madden brand.
I think they hustled for that exclusive contract all those years ago because they thought that, in time, the 2K brand games (remember those...in the days before the EA/NFL monopoly?) would become far superior to their own...The 2K games had their problems, but overall the playability was awesome and by now those games would be absolutely awesome I bet.
