Amen.. the playbooks are diverse, but there are several plays the CPU consistently uses that are drive-killers.

- double screens (usually out of 5 wide) in which 2 recievers run bubble screens are horrible.

- 5 curl route passing plays (multiple formations) are also terrible. I'm playing man- all 5 curls are covered.. the cpu stands around, feels pressure, takes a sack or drills one of my cb's in the chest with a pass.

- 4 fly routes... only should be used in hail mary situations.

Re: Madden 11 priorities?

I just need some of the most basic of long standing issues fixed, once and for all....

Player ratings: The player ratings just simply must mean more. I need to see much more of a difference in play, between a 70 OVR and a 90 OVR. At all positions.

Cpu AI: The AI actually punting on your 25 to 30 yard line? Your kidding right? There are of course other examples of poorly programmed AI decision making. But this one alone, shows a real lack of caring how the cpu plays. Franchise mode is still far too popular of a mode, to continue to ignore poorly programmed AI.

Animations: From robotic player movements, to morphing of ball and players, jet-packing, suction blocking/tackling, and ugly looking animations to allow certain outcomes, need to be toned way down. Ie...players just standing in place, or moving out of the way. This imo...really ruins any illusion of simulation play.

The thing where everything starts in a football gameplay is with movement. Movement, including footwork, physics, and momentum needs a major overhaul. That should be first priority IMHO, because everything else, including line play will build upon it.

Re: Madden 11 priorities?

Just two requests from me, please:

--Blocking/OL and DL line play

--DB play...or in particular, have the defense play read-and-react football instead of seeming to act like they were in the offensive huddle with you.

But if I had to ask for one big thing for EA to hang their hat on with 11? The blocking/OL/DL line play would be it. It could make a fundamentally significant difference to the game.

Having put in my 2cents, I'll finish by saying that Madden 10, warts and all, is still pretty darn fun this year.

Re: Madden 11 priorities?

BLOCKING is a must.
Ratings that matter

I would like to see a animation break for the tackle animations. What I mean is if I hit a RB and he breaks the tackle I want the next defensive player who is right there to hit him also. I know that they did this for the offense. They give you the ability to stiff arm or spin out of a tackle animation. Now when a player is locked into a fall forward animation they just bounce around until the animation is finished. With madden 11 I would like to see a second defender hit the player if he is in position to make the stop.

Clean up the pro tak. I do not want to see a 5-6 man rugby scrum that is immiting a gang tackle. Watch any game and if you see a pro tak style pile up once the momentum is stopped the whistle blows you do not see hb's breaking out of a 5 man tackle and running for a touch down.

The defensive objective is to AVOID THE BLOCK and GET TO THE BALL, not to run to the nearest blocker.

Prusuit angles need to be fixed once and for all. Its 2010 the basic idea of prusuit angles should be 100% correct by now.

Put in a team builder type creation system in the game so if you want to design new uniforms for your team. Add the option to have coaching contracts/create a coach for yourself and the ability to get fired. If I want to build a new stadium for my team give me the option to do so without moving my team and loosing my logo.

Re: Madden 11 priorities?

1) Bring back Fair Play Rules online...it makes for a much better game.

2) Full Rosters - This is the last year we should be forced to play without access to ALL our players.

3) Press Coverage - I second that emotion on what a poster said earlier...no defense runs press every down, but gameplay doesn't punish it...let's see more FATIGUE, defensive holding, illegal contact and even pass interference when it's used too excessively.

4) Defensive Commit - many players are predictable and we should have the pre-snap ability to commit our defense to stop offenses that don't vary playcalls. commit to pass, run, misdirection (draws, play-action and screens) and RESET to normal... just the thing for those 3rd and Longs when our blitzing LBs attack the running back instead of the QB. D'OH! for the last time...don't fool the AI--FOOL ME!

5) Individual Coverage Audibles - errr....maybe i only wanna play press coverage on one receiver.

6) Man Lock - before we go making offenses all super-duper we need to bring this back...a defensive must-have.

7) Receiver Shading - we're gonna have to have SOME way to stop quick slants if we can't play press....

8) Online Depth Chart - let us save our formation subs here as well.

9) Challenge Spot - let's make this actually WORK next year. i can't see how its any different from challenging a bad call. of course this means bad "spots" will be in the game too

Screen Plays - Man-to-Man defenses should be MUCH more effective .vs. the screen...here's another NOVEL idea: lets see players with high AWR sniff these out too.

Excessive Drop Backs - still happens too much. let's end this one once and for all...call holding on 90% of downs when a QB drops back further than 10 yards from the line of scrimmage.

It's "interesting" how they decide when to punt or FG attempt.

I never saw it as far in as my 30, but one game they punted on my 35 early in the game, but later they tried a long FG, missed it, and gave me the ball in good position for my score at the end of the game.

If they would have punted then (especially since they missed it already) chances are I would be no better than my 20.
