Well, my list was meant to be in order of highest priority to lowest. So gameplay would be my highest priority once again with players respecting physics and individual coverage assignments being the most important aspects of that. If that's all that was improved for madden 12, I would be sorely disappointed tho.

Meeeeeeee too. Thank You Kj.

And thats what I've been saying to Nunyerbiz.

Better gameplay is great but boy is that a disappointment for a main improvement. Look at this.....

NHL 11 has outstanding gameplay but little else besides nice intros.

NBA 2K11 has pretty good gameplay but probably not as good as NHL. Yet, the game has so much else to offer in entertainment value that it scores a 9.5 and is considered by many to be the greatest sports game of all time.

That game comes alive....That is definitley more than just good gameplay!!!

Franchise. I actually miss the player roles and morale.

Madden really needs to put some effort into the Franchise. That's the only reason I buy the game.

I have to agree, too. I'm an offline franchise mode player. That's what I buy Madden for. What I really want is a progression system that works. I absolutely loved it for the PS2, and I've been very disgusted with it next gen. I do feel like progression is a little better this year, bu I really hate the "Potential" system. What happens when you have the Brady's and Colston's of the world? If they have to go with this Potential thing, at-least let it be changeable. For example. Say my draftee comes into the league with a "D" grade in progression. If he has a good season, it should be able to get better. Likewise, a guy that comes into the league and turns out to be the next JaMarcus Russell has his potential downgraded.

Oh, and thinking about this year's coaches thing like what was talked about in another thread...the whole thing with the missing pictures is one thing, but why have the assistant coaches' bonus thing and have so very little coaches with bonus points? To me, that's a waste. At-least have some kinda bonus for each AC.

1. Gameplay. It's bad imo. (sorry to the guys enjoying it, but thats my opinion). Bad physics, no double hit tackles, no individual bump n run or playing off one guy, no shading wrs, no lead blocking, no qb vision, and smaller playbooks than years past. This game needs to at least get back to ps2 standards, and it hasn't done that in 6 tries.

2. Presentation. It's practicaly non-existant and makes the game incredibly boring compared to those other sports games. Enough said on that.

3. Modes. Both franchise modes, the mini games, and superstar mode all need huge upgrades, The ability to create tournaments or play online tournaments also would be welcomed. (Once again, ps2 had it)

4. Online. Lags, disconnects are issues that hurt that experience as well.

In short, even though this is the "best nex-gen yet", this game needs a lot of love.
The first paragraph, you mention the different team aspect as if it isn't true? From what I've gathered thats pretty much how it works. You have your gameplay guys, designers, artists, etc. They all have different parts of the game that they work on. Which then blends in to what we get every year in the final product.

With that stated, my requests are primarily for the designer/artists when I harp on facemasks and ion helmets and such.

Re: What area do you hope to see the MOST improvement in Madden 12?

The gameplay is coming along. I expect it'll improve significantly, so I'm not going to go there.

Presentation is trimming. Great presentation brings everything else together, but if the rest of flimsy, it's just a pretty box.

Franchise mode gets my vote. All the presentation is worthless without context to put it in, and and no matter how good the gameplay gets, it wont hold my attention if it's all one-off games with no consequence.

Re: What area do you hope to see the MOST improvement in Madden 12?

I want to say I'm asking the following questions because I'm genuinely interested in your answers, not because I'm trying to shoot down your argument. There's a lot of vague statements that are made here, and I just want to have a sense of what exactly the complaints are.

no double hit tackles,
Been seeing this a lot this season, never saw it before. What I think people mean by it is someone 'cleaning up' a tackle when a back has branched into a break-tackle animation. Accurate?

Now, I still have Madden 08 on my PC, and it's installed. I played just a few days ago... specifically messing around with the playbook editor. The game is absurdly fast, change of direction feels like driving a Peterbilt, line AI is simply atrocious... in other words, in terms of physics and AI, it's way behind Madden 11. You could not pay me to go back to that, even with modern graphics (given, it is better than Madden 06 - Madden 09 NextGen)

So I guess what I'm asking, in light of the specifics you pointed out there: are a lot of the complaints about current Madden's "gameplay" more about the lack of legacy-gen options like, as you mentioned, playing one corner off and one tight, shading receivers, etc..?
