Rushing yardage has been very realistic; sacks, except for my team, has been realistic. the area where I see major nonsense is with QBs, and not just for this rookie. What I see many times are CPU QBs throwing like their ratings mean nothing--and CPU WRs as well. I have DBs all rated in the 90s covering WRs rated low 80s to high 60s with much less speed and they get open so fast the CPU QB hits them. Now, the amazing thing is how fast the CPU QB hits them and even with one of my big guys in his face. Meanwhile, my QB, highest rated in the NFL, has to spend, on average, 2 seconds trying to find one of his 90+ OVR receivers. I play with Coach Mode On and will on occasion take over and throw the pass. The thing is, I can, on many occasions, hit the throw button and he completes the pass. Why didn't he throw without me? Because the CPU has control. Why is my highest rated QB with accuracy missing the same wide open WR on successive plays--identical play? Because the CPU wants a completion to another WR. I've seen this happen so many times it is not funny. The guy he misses is rated 94 and an excellent receiver, but it's all about what the CPU wants. After all, once your play begins, who decides what should happen?

I have a HB 95 speed and 98 acceleration with a catch rating of 86, carry 89, and what happens if I use him on returns? He fumbles the catch about 3-4 times in about 6 returns!

See, this is kinda like going into a combat zone. You must shift your mentality and say "damn I'm dead" then you'll function better.

With Madden, you must say "this is the madden reality, not the real reality", then you'll enjoy the game more. Relax, loosen up the tie and unbutton that top button man, breath lol.

Seriously. If you don't approach this like a video game, then you'll be screwed.

I had to do it with NFL2k5, too, and every game I've ever played!

Guys that are crazy talented don't play at an elite level all the time. And sometimes guys that don't have much talent play at an elite level. That's life.

Just going through stats real quick here:
In 2000, Elvis Grbac was #3 in the NFL in passing yards. Do you think he was a better QB than Brett Favre, Kurt Warner, etc?

List of rookies in this decade who, had they played the full season, would have surpassed 3000 yards:
2010: Sam Bradford
2009: Matt Stafford, (Josh Freeman would have missed by a few yards if he kept his average)
2008: Matt Ryan, (Flacco missed by 29 yards)
2006: Matt Leinart
2003: Byron Leftwich
2001: Chris Weinke

As is, 27 QBs average enough passing yards per game to get over 3000 this year. Last year, that number was 24. Most full-time starters pass for 3000 yards in a season.

Do you think that Matt Leinart, Byron Leftwich, and Chris Weinke were excellent QBs? I think that's an obvious no, so the fact that you're making it sound like this rookie QB is playing at a ridonkulous level when he really isn't is just silly.

Anyway, glad you enjoy reading my posts.
I'm not saying there isn't some validity to your concerns; you just keep coming back with new stuff (be it CB vs. WR, specific attributes, or this QB) and people point out that, while rare, these things can happen. Obviously they happen more frequently in a video game than in real life, but that's the nature of the beast.

Re: Is this because of the new patch?

A 21-year-old rookie with lousy accuracy does not throw 27-34 for 431 yards and 5 TDs in his first game--that is what I said and am saying.

A guy who went through 30 seasons posted the top 5 accurate passers, one of which is my QB. The other 4? None was this "amazing rookie" who throws with amazing accuracy in my franchise.

I seriously doubt that anyone else has seen this guy throw like Peyton Manning. There is a thread about drafts and I have not seen anyone point to this guy and say wow! But, in my franchise all kinds of strange things happen...

Re: Is this because of the new patch?

For those who want to compare Peyton Manning: First game as 22 year old rookie was 21 for 33, 284 yards, 2 TDs and 2 Ints. Compare that to 27-34, 431 yards, 5 TDs and no interceptions and running a terrible team.
