Usually T.O. retires so I know I'll lose him and then I still havent decided if I'm going to trade Carson or Chad. I guess depending how we do this season. If we do pretty good and make the playoffs I might keep them intact and try to build a good offensive line and keep them in place for a couple years but if it goes south I'm going to consider blowing them up and trading atleast one of them, maybe even both haha.
i would see what the draft brings mostly bout carson.. as far as ocho goes, im gonna trade him no matter what after first year. going younger at the wr spot. i wish potential wasnt terrible or id start simpson/caldwell and shipley in slot. but ill prolly grab a number wide out in fa or draft after 1 year. thats my plan anyway..

Yeah whatever I do I'm going to try and be realistic and not make unfair or crazy trades haha but I'm gonna base it off this year. The Bengals were coming off a season in which they won the division and that's where I'm picking it up at and starting this season now I'm 4-1. And to be "realistic" Palmer most likely isnt getting traded irl either haha. But yeah I'll finish this season and figure out what I'll do. I also don't know what I'll do at running back. Benson usually wants a big deal and I don't think I'm gonna give him one.

Re: How's your rebuilding going?

i started my franchise again last night. i only allowed myself to make one trade. i sent T.O/1st round to falcons for lofton/3rd round. trade block found it for me... cut a couple players and sent leonard to FB. and ya, to be realistic, palmer is more then likely staying. brown dug his feet in on chad, he'll do the same here. palmer will have to retire if he wants out that bad. started 1-0 so far. PM sliders and all 32 team gameplans. gameflow the entire time.

on benson, im goin to try and get a bruiser back in the 3rd round (my extra pick) of the draft and let him hit FA. he always wants $$$. 2nd round will be WR to replace chad.
2-WR
3-QB
3-RB
4-G
5-S
6/7- T/best available
i think thats how my drafts gonna end up. but we'll see how the season plays out.

But then, the real fun began! OFFSEASON!

My first draft went very well, picked up two key talents with A potential; QB and C. Started them both and they played well/great and progressed well. The QB is a 78 ovr going into his second season, but he passed for over 4k yards and 28 tds, 12 int his rookie season and led us to 13-3 and a Super Bowl win. Oh, I also drafted a CB in the third who has B potential, but he's just amazing on the field and starts as #2 CB. Rest of the draft was meh.

My third season/second draft I did this past weekend, after my SB win. I was picking 32nd so was afraid my top scouted picks would be gone (LG, RT, RE, TE). Happily, all but the TE were available for my 1st pick, so I went with my biggest weakness which was LG. A potential, and 86 ovr! So with that, everything else was going to be gravy...and then three miracles happened (and I did NO trading up).

Drafted RE, A potential, 82 ovr. Yay! 2nd rd
Drafted DT, A potential, 85 ovr, Yay!! 3rd rd
Drafted FB, A potential, 84 ovr, YAY!!! 4th rd

5th-7th were meh and duds....but 1-4 are outstanding and starting.

In FA, I got Zach Miller TE (carlson was too pricey to re-sign), a serviceable RT to replace Locklear, a steal of a first year MLB to eventually replace Lofa, and a solid fourth WR.

Also of note: Golden Tate (WR) developed into a monster! So him, Butler, and M Williams make for a great WR corps.

The 3rd rd DT is an absolute terror!

Okay, projected needs for next draft: RT (finish up the OL), CB (Trufant's getting old and I'm trying to go young). Those are the top two positions of need. I then need depth at safety and OLB.

3-0 so far in my third year, regular season.

Great fun...Madden really gets interesting once you get past the 'current' season and start drafting.
Man thats awesome.. sounds like your really enjoying it. Im in my 3rd year with my Panthers (3-3) and in the 2 drafts that ive had, ive drafted my franchise TE, DE,DT,OLB and a decent RG. Still starting QB Jimmy Clausen but going to be looking in the draft for one. Dont really like lefties.

GL with your franchise!

Nice bro, what was your score against the Pats? I won 23-20 on a last 2nd FG haha. But now I'm 5-2 but these next 2 games are gong to tell alot about my team. MNF vs the Steelers then at the Colts. I'm about to fire the xbox up right now.
