It's not more sim. Just because it's more difficult doesn't make it more realistic.

Lack of depth perception, general feel of the pocket, etc eliminate this view from being any more realistic than any other view.

You just can not simulate the innate feel of what's going on around you in 2d. Depth perception becomes a real issue as well at this angle in 2d.

I misread the original post. As an option, that's fine. I don't want it to be required or the only option ala Backbreaker.

Sometimes it is okay to sacrifice realism if it makes a game fun.
The Camera angle (along with some poor football AI and fundamentals) ruined that game for me. made it unplayable.

I'm not saying it makes more sim, but I have heard that argument. if it was an option I would try it out as long as everything is worked out.

Imo it didn't work. At least with BB. Sensory deprivation does not equal realism imo.

Thanks for all the great responses guys...

- Maybe in 10 years when everyone has 3D TV's this could be a 2nd option for those that like the idea?

- I was mainly talking about the idea as a 2nd option to the "god view" we currently have. I feel like having the ability to see the entire field is part of the reason its so hard to make a "sim" football game. But I do understand this would be a drastic change that isn't really "needed"

- I've always tried to think about how they could simulate QB Awareness somehow, NCAA does a good job I think, ie- if you have a QB with low awareness, you can't see what button some of the receivers are. I'd like to see something like this in Madden.

- I think it would be cool if Madden went even furthur with that, like you couldn't see the entire play art "pre snap" or, maybe for only a 2 or 3 seconds, based on your QB Awareness... My thinking is that, rookie and lower ovr QB's should not be able to "know" the play as well as a QB like Manning, or Brady...

- Also, for WR, HB, TE and QB with low awareness, I think it should be harder for them to call hot routes and audibles... Meaning, if you call a hot route, the WR simply doesn't "here" it, or "know" what to do based on his low awareness, and just runs his original route. This might add some importance to the awareness attribute, and stop "speed" from being the most important attribute for a WR...

- I don't know about you all, but in my online franchises that I'm in, WR's with amazing speed, like 97-99 ranges, and terrible awareness and ovr rating, are still able to dominate because they are fast... One of the "great" WR in my league is 68 ovr, 97spd, 25 awareness lol, this guy, should not be able to "know" the playbook and his assignments as well as someone like Reggie Wayne.

Sorry, that was kinda long, I was just thinking of things off the top of my head lol.
