Re: What is your all time favorite Madden(s)

It was '05 until this past year. And I think thats because the changes were refreshing after so long.

But this year's game will shoot straight to the top for me I'm sure. I'm FINALLY getting some "real" attention to broadcast presentation. Thank goodness.

Playing my other favorite sports (The Show and NBA 2K) just made Madden's broadcast seem so dead and dry in the past.

Re: What is your all time favorite Madden(s)

i say any madden that had these feature sorry if i dont remember what madden it was since i play every football game out

i like the madden with franchise mode that had
hold outs news paper was cool but didnt need it
like when u play a game the sky turned color so u know the after noon turned to evening game play was best on madden 03-04 or for me it was
like the madden where u set ticket prices and stuff and u could have a day will u give stuff away and to make extra money charge more money when u in the playoffs since the fans will be willing to pay more if u in the playoffs all this was awesome

o yea dont forget after the superbowl and pro bowl u could play 1 college bowl game and u know some of the players entering the draft

i like madden where players got mad for what ever reason they maybe want new contract or u not playing them they demand you trade them away this make it seem like so real

all these features made me always buy madden game year after year

if i only could pick one it pro be madden 04 i missed the franchise mode how it was back then hopefully they make it good this year with all the upgrades they talk about

and madden u made madden 07 or think it was with mud puddles then next year take it out thats just garbage why even added in the first place ?

o well cant wait till madden 12 comes out and few more days before we here about franchise mode

i here you on Madden 07. I thought 08 had better gameplay (gang tackling and some other fixes from 07) but 07 was my first Madden....and you know how you always remember the first time......anyway I digress.......I was totally captivated by the deep franchise mode and absolutely loved the tony bruno show. I was totally sold on that when I did a 32 team create a team league and he still talked about my games and my players etc. I loved the scouting report on upcoming games...just everything. I have fond memories of falling asleep while playing late at night.

Re: What is your all time favorite Madden(s)

Madden 07 PS2, and it's not even close.

I LIKED them all to a varying degree, but 07 was the pinnacle of the series for me.

-Best soundtrack, IMO (Always important when you're doing a lot of simming in franchise...10/11 were good but knowing 85-90% of the songs out of the box makes it monotonous very quick)

-The deepest, albeit still broken Superstar Mode (Why my RB got penalized for an incomplete pass, I'll never know)

- Smoothest gameplay to date, IMO

- Al Michaels/John Madden's commentary was the smoothest it had been.

Last, but definitely not least,: FRANCHISE MODE<3

It had RFA, Training Camp, newspapers, Tony Bruno, a great Draft where you got booed/cheered based on the selection, a "now on the clock" announcement and so much more. I still play 07, and barely touch 11 for this reason alone. It was immersive and it really felt like they wanted you to stick around and play Madden all day, and that's exactly what I miss about today's Madden.

That's why it sucks sometimes to get a new system right from the start. I got my 360 the day it came out so i didn't play any last gen Madden's after that. I got stuck with all the bare bones 360 versions.

Back to the OP, I would say Madden 05

Same here (except on PS2). 2005 was awesome and 2007 was the pinnacle of the series.

If I had to rank them for overall play time, features, gameplay etc:

1) Madden 2005/2007 (it is the best all around so far)

2) Madden 2011 (it is the only Madden I play today)

3) Madden 99 (Franchise makes it's debut in all it's glory)

4) Madden 2004 (Loved the QB playmaker stick mechanic)

5) Madden 93 (nostalgia)
