i may have change it up this yr since they expanded the rosters, i useally simmed the pre season with injuries off because if i had them on way to many of my players and other teams star players would get injuried before week 1. but if i do i will do it like the real nfl starters to get a quarter or so then last game play all the back ups.

Game one:

Starters on offense - one or 2 series then out.
Starters on Defense - one quarter

Game 2

Offense - one quarter
Defense - one quarter

Game 3

Offense - one half and one series in the 3rd quarter
Defense - ditto

Game 4 - all starters are out. Position battles and fringe guys.

Rookies - Rookies that can really contribute will get a lot of PT in the pre-season to amp up DPP. Blue chip players will play at least a half every pre-season game with the exception of the 4th game. If however a blue chip player is killing it in his limited PT I will pull it back like a veteran player.

With preseason having some meaning now, its all the more reason to have special team depth charts. Ill probably still end up simming the entire preseason tho. I might play the last game. Just depends on the incentive to play rather than sim.

There is lot's of incentive. All your walk on free agents and fringe guys plus rookies have their ratings unlocked little by little each and every week. So it makes you really labor over who to cut and who not to cut as there will be diamonds in the rough.

8/30 can't get here soon enough!!!
