Re: How's Your Franchise Going- Madden 12 Edition

this weeks playoff match up was the jags vs browns

this game started out fast for browns but our offense wasent clicking on all gears.

1st quarter we get the ball and in an 8 play drive go ahead 7-0 on a weeden to givens 16 yard TD...jags ball but there offense cant get going they have to punt... were driving and with 1:27 left in first richardsons hit and coughs up the ball jags ball @ there 21. on a 3rd and 1 palmer hits his te lewis for 21 yards 1st quarter ends.

2nd quarter starts jags ball still the big 21 yard play was the big play of drive as next 3 passes by palmer were 2 incomplete and a drop pass on 3rd down jags punt yet again... browns ball but a drop by watson on 3rd and 9 which would of been a first down because he got behind the jags defense forces us to punt. with 7:13 the jags finally get on board with 44 yard fg by scobee 7-3 browns... again our offense cant do nothing yet another punt. jags offense faces same thing 3 and out and punt neither teams wr's wanna catch ball, finally my offense gets back on track and with 17 secs left before halftime what was a 16 yard td catch is called back because of holding next play incomplete pass we have settle for fg 10-3 @half.

the 3rd quarter starts jags recieve the ball and there offense takes off and a huge 47 yard completion to west from plamer sets up a MJD 12 yard td run 10-10 tie...my offense responds and on a 9 yard drive richardson scores from 6 yards out 17-10 browns jags ball and on 2nd and 8 palmer does fake handoff turns left and throws but his pass is off target and 5 yards short of nearest wr and is picked by skrine returned 17 yards 1st and 10 on jags 18 we run 3 plays and quarter ends.

4th quarter starts and we score on opening minutes of 4th with weeden to givens 3 yard TD we go up 24-10 .... the jags say hold on minute 1st and 10 palmer lets one fly finds thomas behind the browns defense he outruns them for an 80 yard TD so a 14 point lead is cut in half with a blink of an eye 24-17... we get the ball but again were called for holding on a 3rd and 5 we have to punt jags ball jags driving and with 6:15 left in 4th scobee kicks a 52 yard fg to bring jags within 4 so now our leads only 4 24-20. again my offense falters resulting in yet another punt jags ball and there driving and on 4th and 3 @ 1:57 palmers pass is incomplete we take over... thinking well heck all we have do is run few plays and kill clock wrong......... first play is a 5 yard run by richardson jags TO next play -4 yard run jags TO 3rd and 8 an incomplete pass jags TO so in 3 plays we basically only ran off 20 secs lmao 1:39 left in game jags get ball because we had punt 1st and 10 palmer finds blackmon for 57 yards jags @ our 8 yard line 1:19 left in game but my defense stiffens mjd only gets 2 yards on 2 carries resulting in a 3rd and 8 palmers pass is dropped on 3rd and 8 palmers quick pass to outside is dropped so 4th and 8 they go for it same pass its a lil off target west catches it and turns up the field but haden tackles him resulting only in a 2 yard catch turnover on downs lucky that the jags used all there TO's on last drive because again our offense faltered and we had punt as time expired. we win 24-20 and move onto the next round of playoff's.

Weeden was 19-29 211 yards 2 TD's 0 ints had qb rating of 109.9,Richardson had yet another tough game but did break the 100 yard mark with 33 carries for 117 yards 1 TD 3.5 yac,Givens lead our wr's with 9 catches 89 yards 2 TD's,Watson had 4 for 48,jackson had 3 for 39,young,fujita,jackson each had 6 tackles, Sheard had 1 sack defense had 1 int.

Carson Palmer was 12-27 250 yards 1 TD, 1 int 74.6 qb rating,MJD had 17 carries 103 yards 1 TD avg 6 yac, thomas lead the jags wr's with 2 catches 84 yards 1 TD,blackmon had 2 for 61,west had 2 for 49,Grady Mitcham lead jags defense with 13 tackles ,derek cox had 10 jags defense didnt get a sack or int but got a FF.

my offense has to get better 2 weeks in row now we are settling for fg's instead of td's and it came back haunt us against lions and almost happen against jags 1 miss tackle by haden and our season woulda been over.

up next is the chiefs were 11-5 there 12-4

Re: How's Your Franchise Going- Madden 12 Edition

Coaching sliders changes I'll make, effective as of next game:

All teams +10 Offensive Run/Pass, +10 Offensive Aggression

I reluctantly make this change and I hope it doesn't screw up the played games...but the stats are clear that there's just not enough passing yards, possibly because of not enough pass attempts.

The aggression hopefully will increase scoring. I'm loving the fact it's a defense-oriented league, but it's not realistic as per the modern game.

Though, maybe it's just how the talent developed (and the lack thereof "on the street" so injuries are killer for all teams).

Re: How's Your Franchise Going- Madden 12 Edition

From my Blog- Madden 12 Browns Franchise- A New Era

The Browns. Yup, the team that drafted a 28 year old quarterback that will be 29 before the season begins. The browns are in no way my favorite team, but I find their team interesting, especially with the new 1st round additions. And on a side note, my dad takes business trips to Cleveland fairly often. I decided to start an offline franchise with them using updated rosters (AS OF JUNE 21). I am fairly deep into the 'chise already, but I will try to get you caught up to point. Prepare for a wall of text . Hopefully by the end you will have enjoyed the read.

Starting off in Season 1 (technically Season 2, keep that in mind) I played all 16 games. It was a tough season. I wanted to start Weeden, however he got injured twice throughout the year and wasn't overly effective even when he was healthy. Thus, we had a rough season finishing 6-10 and tied for the NFL's 7th Worst Team.

"It was obviously a challenging year for the team, having some rookie key players that needed to adjust to the NFL. However, the team is growing better, you could see if throughout the year with that 2 game win streak at the end. We'll be up there next year, I promise." -Pat Shurmur

When asked about the sideline issues he had with a couple of his players (T.J. Ward, Josh Cribbs) over the course of the season, he replied by saying "We disagreed a couple calls I made as a Coach, is all. I talked it over with them personally and its behind all three of us."

Browns GM Tom Heckert disagreed. It was announced shortly after Week 17 that Pat Shurmur would not be returning as the Browns Head Coach for the '13-'14 season. The rest of the staff made it through the offseason.

Roughly a week after the release of Shurmur, it was announced that Jack Del Rio and the Browns had agreed to a 5-year deal. Oh my, the uproar by the fans. Pretty much every Browns fan had wanted the team to sign Tony Dungy, who announced he was returning as a Head Coach earlier in the year. Del Rio said "I'm ready to go to work. This is a great young team that I have the pleasure of coaching, I'm not going to let a few upset spectators get in my way [or the Team's way]."

Before I recap the offseason, I will list some notable performers of 2012-2013.
Trent Richardson: A beast from day 1. Finished 4th in the NFL in Rushing Yards (1400+), and 6th in TDs (12).
Sheldon Brown: Although old, he did a good job as the #2 CB, finishing T-1 in Interceptions with 6.
Emmanuel Acho: Due to Chris Gocong's injury, the rookie got a ton of playing time, more than the coaches would've liked. Although he was sometimes abused by offenses because of his ill-experience, he progressed as a player a LOT, and is the projected starter at the ROLB position for the upcoming season.

Offseason
The Browns lost a lot of depth players to F/A. The only big name that hit the market was CB Sheldon Brown, who simply demanded too many years and way too much money to bother resigning him. (Ended up with a 3YR, 18M deal with the Colts.)

The Browns started off Free Agency by signing CB Terrence Newman (Dallas) to a 2YR deal worth roughly 11M. He will compete with Trevin Wade for the 2nd Corner spot. Within a few hours, the Browns also announced they signed F/As John Kuhn (FB) and Sebastian Janikowski (K).

Heading into the NFL Draft, the Browns were in a good position with the 7th Overall Pick. The 'mock experts' had them taking either: WR Devonte Malone out of Ohio State, or RE Taylor Hunt out of Penn State. When the Browns turn to pick came up, both were available.

With the 7th Overall Pick in the 2013 NFL Draft, the Cleveland Browns select... Devonte Malone from Ohio State University. The #1 WR in the draft, Malone posesses solid height, great speed, and superb hands.
"I'm glad I got picked by the Browns. It's just a great feeling to get drafted, let alone in the Top 10." -Devonte Malone
"An exciting pick for sure.. he's the kinda guy that can open up an entire offense without catching the ball. Great addition to this offense." -Brandon Weeden

BROWNS DRAFT RECAP:
Round 2: DaQuan Trahan RE (84/A)
Round 3: Robert Green S (78/A)
Round 4: Daryl Hawkinds G (71/C)
Round 5: Okoye Frederick CB (62/D)
All other picks were later cut before the regular season.

"A make or break draft. GM Tom Heckert took care of a lot of needs early, not to mention getting Robert Green in the early 3rd round, talk about a steal!" -John Appleseed (lolwut), The Cleveland Gazette

Transaction before the season started:

-Released S.Fujita (ROLB) and signed Greg Jones (ROLB) to a 1YR Deal.
-Signed RE Dwight Freeney (He was an F/A under the ROLB category, Indy must have changed to a 3-4 and he didn't want to be a part of it.) We were able to snag him late to add depth to this D-Line.
-Signed TE Dennis Pitta. He was cheap and a good receiving TE.

Injuries (some of these caused some of the signings above):
-LE Jabaal Sheard suffered a Partial PCL Tear. It won't keep him out the entire year, but at least a good chunk of it.
-ROLB Kaluka Maiava, a backup linebacker, broke his angle in the preseason and is on the IR.
-Rookie G Daryl Hawkins tore his tricep in training camp, he was later put on the IR during the regular season.

And that wraps up the offseason. Congratz to those who read this, no matter how much, it is greatly appreciated and fun to make. Stay tuned, I have plans to release regular season game coverage very soon!

Re: How's Your Franchise Going- Madden 12 Edition

AFC CHAMPIONSHIP Browns Vs Chiefs

1st quarter

browns get the ball but again our offense is misfiring we punt chiefs ball and cassell comes out firing hits baldwin for 27 then moeaki for 16 then finds hemingway for a 16 yard TD 7-0 chiefs.finally my offense gets going weeden hits little for 21,benjamin for 7,givens for 3 and thats the 1st quarter.

2nd quarter

weeden again connects with givens for 11 yards then richardson bust off a 25 yard run next play is a richardson 4 yard TD and were tied up 7-7...chiefs ball and again cassels firing he hits bowe on 2nd down for a 76 yard TD 14-7 chiefs...browns ball but again drops and a 8 yard sack stop my offense and we punt it back to chiefs...charles gets 5 yards then incomplete pass cassel hits bowe for 19 yards...again trying hit moeaki ward steps in front picks its off and returns it 10 yards 1st and 10@ browns 46 5 yard run by richardson then weeden finds little for 20 yards 4 plays later weeden finds moore in corner of endzone for 13 yard TD 14-14 tie yet again. chiefs ball cassel again trying hit moeaki but this time fujita gets in front it and picks it off and returns it for 6 21-14 browns... feeling unfazed by back to back int drives cassel finds baldwin for 8 yards and again baldwin for 22 then moeaki for 10 yards. his next 2 passes would be incomplete then a sack on 3rd and 10 that would force a punt and thats how half ends 21-14.

3rd quarter

chiefs ball and again cassel's still firing away hits hemingway for 14,9 then moeaki for 5 and charles for 5 but there drive only results in fg 21-17...browns ball richardson breaks off a 13 yard run then an 8 yard run, weeden hits givens for 9 yards then another richardson 11 yard run...-5 yard ryn by richardson then weeden connect's with little again for 21 next play is a 24 yard TD pass to givens he broke an arm tackle and was off to races. again the chiefs offense does it thing and that be 3rd quarter.

4th quarter

they chiefs drive stalls and there force to punt browns ball and the browns are driving until weedens sacked for -13 yard loss not looking good 3rd and 23 some how weeden spots benjamin behind the defense and gets it to benjamin for 31 yard completion jackson fills in for richardson few plays and bust off a 12 yard run then next play is a weeden to cribbs 22 yard pass play 2 plays later weeden finds jackson on a lil out route he turns corner and scores the TD 35-17 chiefs ball but now all sudden cassel cant complete a pass and there forced to punt.3:34 left in game browns ball and weeden hits little for 17 yards but on next play is sacked for 9 then finds givens for 9...weedens sacked yet again forcing a punt 56 secs left in game cassel finds moeaki for 40 yards but very next play cassel is int in the endzone by haden sealing the victory for browns final 35-17.

Weeden was 25-33 321 yards 3 TD's 0 int's qb rating of 136.0,Richardson had 21 carries 92 yards 1 TD 4.3 yac,Givens lead the browns with 10 catches 97 yards 1 TD,little had 4 catches for 79 yards, benjamin had 4 for 47,Fujita,young,johnson lead the browns defense with 6 tackles Haden,Ward,Fujita each had an int in the game, we had 1 sack.

Cassel was 17-30 295 yards 2 TD's 3 ints 72.9 qb rating,Charles had 9 carries 42 yards 4.6 yac,Moeaki lead the chiefs with 5 catches 74 yards bowe had 2 catches 95 yards 1 TD,hemingway had 3 for 39 1 TD,Gnomes lead the chiefs defense with 9 tackles,arenas had 7 tackles,chiefs had 4 sacks on day no turnovers by the chiefs defense.

well i said we had to play better and we did we got TD's instead of fg's in this weeks game and instead of turning it over we made plays on defense.

SUPER BOWL is BROWNS vs 49er's

Dqwell Jackson was injuried in this weeks game but johnson came in and filled in nice had 6 tackles against chiefs.

49ers are coming into the super bowl with alot of oline injuries and cb injuries.

Re: How's Your Franchise Going- Madden 12 Edition

Collapse in Pittsburgh

The Cleveland Browns opened the season vs the Steelers on Sunday Night Football. It was pouring. The Steelers, who won the division last year and are the favorites to win it this year, started the game off marching down the field for a FG. The Browns replied with a steady drive, but were forced to punt 1 First-Down out of Janikowski's FG range.

Although down in score atm, the Browns were running the ball all over the Steelers, but Mendenhall and the Steelers could not move the ball an inch on the ground against the powerful Browns D-Line led by rookie DaQuan Trahan, Ahtyba Rubin, Phil Taylor, and recently signed Dwight Freeney. This lead to a quick 1st half due to a lessen in clock stops. At halftime, the Browns lead 7-6. Richardson already had 50 yards and a touchdown on the ground.

The Browns got the ball after half and it was clear they made good halftime adjustments. Run, run, PA Pass for a big gain. Weeden hooked up with Malone 3 times on the drive, however it would be Weeden who capped off the drive on an 8 YARD TD run. Later in the quarter, the Browns added another 7 points on a great 48 yard TD run by Richardson.

All seemed to be under control for the Browns heading into the 4th. And it was, until the last 5 minutes. PIT kicked a 45 YARD FG with 4:56 left in the 4th Quarter. Following possession for Cleveland, Weeden would get picked off by Lamar Woodley near their own 30. After a drive where Cleveland had 2 chances to force Pittsburgh to either go for it on fourth down or kick a FG, Roethlisberger ended up hooking up with T. Clemons for a 19 yard TD. Score is now 21-16 with 3:05 left to play.

It was a third and seven from Cleveland's ~35 yard line. The two minute warning had just passed, and a first down would use all of PITs timeouts and force them to make a nearly impossible game winning drive. Weeden 5-step drop, looks left at Malone, not open. Over the middle to Cribbs, not open. Looking right to his last resort, Greg Little, who appears to have some space on a curl route, and fires. Dropped.

We would punt to the Steelers, who had already scored 10 on the Quarter and have 2 minutes and all 3 timeouts to get a game-winning score. Slowly but surely, Big Ben using his timeouts well and moving the ball, they would get to Cleveland's 26 yard line. 3rd Down and 10. Big Ben drops back to pass, and gets destroyed by Dwight Freeney who came in untouched. Timeout called, PIT's second. 4th and 16, ball on Cleveland's 32. 4 Wide for PIT, Mendenhall at his side. HIKE.
Spoiler

Constructive criticism always appreciated .

QUICK EDIT: Just thought I'd add that I use Jarodd21's Green Set, slightly modified to make it a little harder, but my last 'chise I used the Red Set I believe and it was too hard (for me).

Re: How's Your Franchise Going- Madden 12 Edition

SUPER BOWL BROWNS Vs 49er's

1st quarter

49ers get the ball but there offense is struggling with all injuries to oline and are forced to punt....browns ball and our offense gets going and again to injuries to the cb's of 49er's there back up's are making mistackling results in a 24 yard pass to benjamin and a 17 yard pass to benjamin.... 2 plays later jackson scores from 3 yards out 7-0 browns.next 49ers drive on 2nd and 10 gore out backfield stiff arms haden putting him on his rear it looks like clear sailing for gore up sideline till ward comes in picture and lays wood to gore resulting in a FUMBLE!!!!!!!!!! taylor recovers the ball. browns ball @ 49ers 26 but our offense stalls we settle for a 20 yard fg 10-0 browns and thats 1st quarter.

2nd quarter

starts and cutler is chased out pocket sacked by rubin causing a FUMBLE!!!! recovered by osi umenyiora browns ball @ 46...but again my offense cant get started settle for yet another fg getting the feeling of the lions game now ....49ers ball but cutler and company cant gewt going another 3 and out...3 plays into browns drive after a big 28 yard compltion to little richardson score from 23 yards out 17-0 browns richardson broke a tackle and dragged another into endzone. next 49ers drive because of all heat ive been putting on cutler he starts getting happy feet and it results with cutler trying to go deep but its picked off by haden!!!!!!!. browns ball but our offense sputters and we punt. 49ers ball and drop passes and incomplete ones results in cutler being sacked yet again resulting in another 3 and out. we would add another fg and its 20-0 @ halftime.

3rd quarter starts

browns recieve the ball and the offense takes off a 14 yard pass play to moore then 13 yard rush by richardson and weeden finds givens for 34 yards weedens sacked on next play for -12 yards but weeden responds with an 18 yard TD pass to cribb 27-0 now 49ers offense finally comes alive and cutler hitds hoyle for a 16 yard TD 27-7 now and that would be the 3rd quarter.

4th quarter

starts browns ball weeden finds moore again for 20 yards then is sacked then finds little and givens for 9 yards each weedens sacked yet agin this time resulting in him being injuried(bruised hand) wallace comes in throws incomplete resulting in a dawson 37 yard fg 30-7 again the 49ers offense takes off finding crabtree for 11 yard TD 30-13 they go for 2 its incomplete onside kick browns recover weeden kneels and thats the ball game Browns SUPER BOWL CHAMPS.

Weeden was 18-27 237 1 TD 0 ints 106.5 qb rating,Richardson had 27 carries 119 yards 1 TD 4.4 ypc,givens again lead the browns 8 catches 87 yards,benjamin and little each had 3 catches 44,47 yards,moore had 2 for 34,haden lead the browns defense with 10 tackles 1 int,gocong had 5,johnson had 4, browns defense had 2 FF's,1 int, 3 sacks.

Culter was 14-23 172 yards 2 TD's 1 int 94.8 qb rating,Gore 14 carries 78 yards 5.5 ypc,crabtree lead 49ers with 4 catches 47 yard 1 TD,hoyle had 3 for 31 1 TD,Davis had 2 for 36 yards,Atogwe lead 49ers defense with 7 tackles,brown,smith,willis each had 6 tackles there defense got 4 sacks.

now were going into yr 4.

funny thing is once i saw all injuries to the 49ers i bumped them up and lowered mine but still ended up being a blow out due to all injuries. and my int slider is @ 25.

Weeden played mistake free football in playoffs no int's and had i think 6 TD's.
