I personally think this thread has run it's course. We should allow it to die respectfully and with dignity.

It only takes ONE person to do all the hours of work customizing to NFL teams and players. It would take the rest of the world a couple of minutes to download. Kind of like the way this site and others provide rosters.

Understood and I hope you do your part by no longer posting in it, lol. No need for it to "die" but I am more than happy to watch it disappear into the distance from nobody posting in it until March 15th 2014 or an extension of the exclusive.

Why would customizing a game from the ground up be any more difficult or in any possible way less rewarding?
Heck, just being able to customize some of the formula weights or what not directly would be great. Want more HRs in OOTP? I just pop into league settings and go to town.

In Madden, that often takes a trip to slider hell for a moment to MAYBE get what you wanted with any consistency without screwing up something else. Something as simple as I want 0.3 more yds per carry can have you oscillating from overpowered running to getting stuffed every play.

Customizing in Madden is more like tweaking the pb.ini in BBPro or the similar type file in MVP 05...often complex, full of side effects, but with only a small fraction of the power to have true influence on how the game runs.

Re: Beware The Ides Of March For The NFL Exclusive License

I wonder if the CEO firing/resignation is going to play into this situation.

Anyone who's worked for a mega giant knows, when a CEO goes, it's not fun. These guys get their binders full of money on the way out the door.

This likely means, EA staffers going to get jipped with raises/bonuses to cover it (aka they may lose whatever decent talent they have), morale will drop, things will get skimped to help make do.

Wonder what's next?

I'm sure that EA will continue to renew the license, on more favorable terms probably, but it might not make a difference in the long run. Would anyone be surprised to see EA go bankrupt in 5 years?

I somewhat would if only because of their FIFA series. That gravy boat is enough to keep them afloat.
