While they do draft/sign probably 6-10 players a season, only 1-4 of those will actually turn out good. If the roster is based off of players aged 21-22, logic says that there will simply be a big drop off when the bulk of those players retire, which will be at about the same time. It's a very important concept in team building in the NFL. Do you see any NFL teams with an average age of 25 and under? Maybe there are a couple, all though I doubt it, and there's a reason there probably isn't any. Having a balanced team age of around 27-28 is ideal, and going below or above it has consequences.

What kind of defense are you running?

--I am running the Saints O, 70/30 pass/run, 70 aggressiveness.

Ended up with 5000+ passing, 2000+ rushing. 1350+ for McFadden, 600+ for Wilson.

I honestly thought that my defense was going to get killed cause it was so young. I'd have to go back and look but I finished top 3 in D somehow. Guys came up big. I will post actual stats later, but off the top of my head for example: Bill Bentley #3 corner, had 5 picks. Kirkpatrick had 60+ tackles and 6 interceptions in the regular season with 2 more in the playoffs. Quinn had 12 sacks. Barron had 4 picks. McCoy had something like 6 sacks but 60+ tackles.

Seemed like all of my D guys stepped up in a major way. Although, most of them were perfect fits for my system which helped I think. Like I said that was simming too, so it's not like I was on some easy level running up stats.

I like the LB versatility with Upshaw, and Carter coming in as Subs. Same goes with Liuget and Curry on Dline.

Team is a younger than I would like but feel like I sprinkled in veterans at key positions...Willis, Collins, Ochocinco

All you need is a good qb, a good offensive line and good secondary. Everything else I draft speed and age. lol
