Oh, and it'd also be cool if, when starting a CFM, you could choose to begin in the offseason (before the draft, can draft the way YOU would have drafted the latest class) and starting in the preseason as usual. They have this feature in NHL I believe

Re: Next years Connected Franchise!

I want CFM QBs that had really good rookie seasons to not have their overall go down. Want as not having, unless if it's one that I have, want as having their overalls to stay what it is or go up.

Re: Next years Connected Franchise!

I'm not a fan of the XP system either. It's too easy to progress players using it. They should just have automatic progression/ regression done on a weekly basis. It's unfair when playing the CPU and it allows you to build up a really deep, powerhouse team fairly easily.

They need to stop removing things that made the game more immersive. Player Roles while not an amazing feature, at least designated key players and made them a lot less likely to get cut or traded or draft additional unnecessary players at the same position. Restricted free agency should never have been removed. The ability to hire coordinators and head coaches shouldn't have been removed. I would like to be able to create plays and formations again. The substitutions menu was incredibly important and needs to be brought back outside of the actual game. I kind of like the situational practice mode, but they should clap make it so you can pick the offensive and defensive plays you want to practice like in the older Madden games. XP can still be used as a reward for practice but only for the coach. So you can spend it on scouting, coach packages and stuff like that, but not to improve players.

And please change the menus!! There's so many menus. Why does this game suddenly need so many menus when it functioned fine before with one third as many? When I click on a player, I want to be able to do anything. Re-sign him, cut him, trade him, make him a captain, check his stats, all from one menu. This would eliminate the need for several menus. And I want to be able to access a player's info from any screen. If I'm on the depth chart, I can't view a Player's Card. If I'm looking at the Pro Bowl roster I can't view a Player's Card. And combine fee agents with the regular Roster menu.

And please do something to make the gameplay feel different when facing certain teams. In older Maddens, I would have to gameplan for someone like Michael Vick. Now, all teams feel the same. Playing against Seattle should feel drastically different than playing Detroit. As a matter of fact, bring back the Gameplan. I remember before each game, they'd tell you things you should focus on for your opponent. Teams just don't have identities anymore. This list is just gonna keep going on and on, so I'm just gonna stop now.

I hope they get rid of the XP System, it's basic and not realistic

Re: Next years Connected Franchise!

Most of my gripes are with the interface of the game:

Roster Sorting: I want to be able to go to "NFL" --> "ALL" and have every player listed and sorted by whatever stat/rating I selected. Then I toggle with with the conference or player position and sort from there. You know, the way it USED to be in all the other previous Maddens and NCAAs. This is basic stuff.

Stop Interface Resetting: When I back out of the goals or XP progression screen, it doesn't take me back to the current position screen, it resets to the full roster? Now I have to go all the way back to whatever position I was looking at? Come on...

XP Progression Screen: Why are the XP packages listed? I should be able to scroll down to a rating and simply use a slider to raise the stat and the game should show the amount of xp required to "purchase" the difference. Yes, this sounds just like NBA 2k. Mainly because I liked how it worked and it seems like the most user friendly interface choice. The full list of stats that takes up the whole screen (plus the Gatorade and Snickers ads) is just clunky.

Awards and Acheivements: Clean up that screen. Once again, why is this a vertical list? Just say:

Super Bowl Appearances (# of SB Apps) - Years done
Super Bowl wins (# of SB wins) - Years done
MVP: (# of MVPs) - Years awarded (2001, 2005, 2008, etc)
League Leader in XYZ Stat: ( # of times achieved) - Years done....
AFC/NFC POY.....

And so on and so forth....

Fix the Rookie Captain Patch Glitch. Just fix it. I know it's small. But it's noticeable and annoying. 4th round pick scrubs with captain patches. Also, allow Coach and Owner mode the chance to assign captain patches to players. And in individual CCM, if your player becomes highly rated or wins an award, ask the user if they'll accept the captain patch.

Fix Popularity and Personality: These numbers are static and it's ridiculous if in Owner Mode, my team is 11-5 heading into the playoffs and my QB who is leading the league in yards or TDs doesn't have a jersey selling out. Those numbers should be dynamic. Fix it.

Get rid of the Comeback out of Retirement System or set the chances of such a feat to 1% of a chance that it could ever happen. Also, let some washout backup QB's become head coaches or coordinators. That happens in the NFL.

Oh yea, have COORDINATORS.

Fix CPU contract logic. CPU is giving out money to average players and role players. And then they let players like Kaepernick or Julio Jones leave, franchise cornerstone type players don't leave without a good reason. And let bum players fall out of the league forever. No reason why 8 years into a CCM, Tim Tebow is starting for any team in this league.

Curtail the number of relocations and rebrandings by the CPU.

If possible, re-align the divisions. Jacksonville Jaguars became the Chicago Cougars and were playing in the AFC South for years. It sorta hurts immersion.

Sorry that this became a wishlist but still....

Re: Next years Connected Franchise!

Agree with much of what has been posted. My big things/peeves are:

- I am the 2nd string HB, I don't want to control the kicker on a FG try just because I'm on the field.

- I am xyz position on offense, but not he QB. I don't want to hike the ball. Give me an indicator about the snap count (on harder difficulties you have to listen to the QB, on away games/loud stadiums perhaps a silent count with the controller vibration?) or just remove my ability to control the offense

- Coordinators/coaches should be calling my plays. I tend to just run a recommended play much of the time to kinda make this happen

- Speaking of coordinators, I want them in the game and to matter. If you are the kind of coach that calls the plays, then that should be a thing, and the impact of your coordinators should be noticeably diminished unless they're of a more assitant head coach type of coordinator. If you bring in a brash offensive genius and then take away his play calling duties that should be detrimental to his chemistry or something and lead to him resigning after the season or earlier if other conditions are met (perhaps be able to get buy-in for that move from the GM so it isn't detrimental to YOUR job too).

- Some form of feedback system through opportunities to voice opinions, leak discontent, things to basically help influence chemistry on your team and locally. This would be your out if there are changes like a new coordinator and scheme and you don't like it. But because the GM overhauls the team 2 years after you were drafted and brings in power run guys and you're a prancing little receiving back who's relegated to returning punts and getting owned in the trenches, you shouldn't be able to just go and adjust the strategy over to your flavor of the month playbook.

The crux of it is if you are a player, you only have so much influence on your game, the playcalling, etc. Provide options to dial it back, but really this is the kind of franchise I'd like to play. If you're a QB you have a bit more options as a potential field general, but it should take some time to get to that point (unless you come into the right set of coaches/coordinators to allow that to happen quicker).

Hmm, think most of that made sense.

Re: Next years Connected Franchise!

I would love to see them add all the things mentioned here. I understand it is a popular mode. But I would also like a good old fashioned striped down single season mode. I just want to play through 16 games of football, and if things go well, a few playoff games.
