You really need to use Inside Edge this year. Make sure you are mixing your pitches, throwing balls to set up you next pitch, and don't ALWAYS do what the catcher asks. I get about 6-8 K's a game with CC and AJ while getting three at most with Chien Ming Wang.

You really have to pitch to the hitter's weaknesses using Inside Edge. Make sure to look at the zone the batter has low averages in and look for what type of pitches he isn't good at hitting.

Good luck! Be patient while pitching and you'll be just fine.

Re: JBH3's MLB2K9 SLIDERS

Before testing these out I have used BFN Joes and SFGiants sliders and they were fun to play with and IMO each getting better and closer to a real sim. I think these slider sets were the most realistic. I played last night as the Astros with Oswalt on the mound against the Braves with their #1 Lowe on the hill in a real pitchers dual. Here are some stats from the game:

Astros 0R, 4H, 0E
Braves 1R, 5H, 1E

Oswalt 8IP, 5H, 11SO, 1HR
Lowe 8IP, 4H, 4SO, 1BB

Astros PC- 76 (11Balls, 65strikes)
Braves PC-64 (6Balls, 58strikes)

Hey JB, have you tested your sliders at all with Human Success higher then 35 and Human Power lower then 100? I'm wondering what the results would be with those changes

I'm testing through some more variations for user batting.

I LOVE CPU offense, and the CPU pitching.

I just need to see more HRs from guys like Rollins, Victorino, Feliz.

That's what I'm trying to get to.

I've been toying w/ the idea of raising contact. Since over the weekend I was trying to keep contact @ 15, a setting I like, and moving the sliders around it to produce the results I wanted.

I'm thinking if Success is lowered to the 35-40 range, w/ contact @ 25, and PWR 70/75 maybe this will get the HRs I expect to hit w/ Jimmy Rollins, Shane Victorino, and Pedro Feliz to happen.

Because I've only managed one HR w/ the 3 of them, and that was w/ Victorino. However, the sliders I used when he got that HR produced too many hits in general and I scrapped that idea.

Will be trying the aformentioned settings tonight.
